The riverside car park on the Whitesands in Dumfries has been reopened following an update from SEPA. It may need to be closed later today once SEPA give a further update, but for the moment, it is open.

We have received reports of 999 outages, affecting landlines only, across some communities in the region. Mobile phones don't appear to be affected. Agencies are aware and working to resolve the issue. We will update once the issue has been resolved.
We are starting to see a few hazards clear across the region, but equally, we have received lots of new reports since first light. Please be careful out there, and thank you to everyone for your assistance in reporting trees down etc
It happened overnight, but the A75 has now fully reopened following yesterday's closure. Please be aware, like all routes, that there may still be trees, parts of trees and other debris on roads across the region.

We've experienced huge impacts from Storm Eowyn. While the Red warning is about to be lifted, an Amber warning remains. Roads will continue to be affected over weekend/into next week. The dedicated roads teams will begin work at first light Saturday. https://t.co/iMVrwlaQuD
Whilst wind speeds are slowly dropping across the region, please be aware we're still in a Red warning, and there is a significant number of incidents still active. A lot of the trees that are blocking roads are not signed as staff haven't been able to access for inspection.
