That stray dog at your gate isn't there by accident.
Maybe it's your chance to be a better human.
In Indian traditions, feeding a stray dog is considered an offering to Bhairava.
Whether you believe in karma or simply in kindness, the act remains the same, a hungry soul gets fed.
Don't miss the opportunity to choose compassion!

This shopkeeper in India opened his doors and let all the street dogs come inside to escape the scorching summer heat. They’re just chilling and resting comfortably in his shop like it’s their own home.
A Tata Power meter reader is repeatedly attacking street dogs in my lane.
When I objected, he threatened me saying ‘I will hit them again, do whatever you can’ and even said he would dump all Bhubaneswar’s dogs outside my house.
I have photo & video evidence but chose not to post it publicly because I don’t want him to be in trouble.
I even informed him that animal cruelty has serious legal consequences. Even said that I will meet Ex Engineer in this regard. But he had no regret or fear.
Despite this, he continued to misbehave and spoke disrespectfully. I am older than him , a cancer patient and could file an FIR, but I believe he may not be aware of the animal abuse laws.
I request @TataPower@TPCentralOdisha to educate and strictly instruct your meter reading staff.
Self-defense is understandable, but hurting harmless street dogs is unacceptable.

A Ukrainian woman named Alisa was fleeing Kyiv when traffic stopped completely. The only way forward was on foot and her elderly dog could barely walk.
So she carried him.
For 17 kilometers. Through cold, fear, and exhaustion. When her arms failed, her husband took a turn. They refused to leave their dog behind.
In the middle of war, when survival choices are brutal, she chose love.
This is what loyalty looks like when everything else is falling apart.
Paralysed husband brought to court on a stretcher in maintenance case, as his wife claims he is fit and demands maintenance
In a maintenance proceeding under Section 125 CrPC, a man was produced before the court on a stretcher, visibly paralysed and unable to speak, walk, or perform basic bodily functions. He has been bedridden for nearly five years following a brain haemorrhage that left the left side of his body non-functional.
According to his family, the marriage lasted barely a month before the wife returned to her parental home and initiated multiple proceedings, including a case under Section 498A IPC and a maintenance petition.
Despite the husband’s grave medical condition, the wife allegedly claimed before the court that he was “completely healthy” and deliberately avoiding court appearances.
The family stated that they had already submitted medical records, photographs, and hospital documents clearly establishing his condition.
However, due to proceedings initiated in the 498A case, where he was declared an absconder and coercive steps under Sections 82 and 83 CrPC were proposed.
The police allegedly compelled the family to physically present him in court to secure bail, warning of property attachment if they failed to do so.
Left with no option, the family brought him to court on a stretcher so that both the court and the complainant could see his condition first-hand. During the hearing, the court reportedly took note of his medical state after seeing him in person.
When documentary medical evidence is already on record, forcing the physical production of a paralysed, non-communicative individual raises uncomfortable questions about proportionality, empathy, and the true purpose of legal process.
Maintenance law exists to prevent destitution, not to become a tool of coercion divorced from facts. Criminal procedure exists to ensure justice, not to mechanically push families into inhuman situations.
Donkeys are among the most abused and ignored animals in our society.
They are forced to carry unbearable loads for years.
Their bodies are pushed beyond limits.
And when they finally need food, water, or medical treatment, they are simply abandoned on the roads to suffer.
Many are left with their legs tied, unable to walk freely, unable to run, unable even to escape pain.
They limp through life with wounds, hunger, and exhaustion—silently enduring cruelty they never deserved.
What hurts even more?
There are so many alternatives available today.
Yet these innocent, voiceless animals are still used, abused, and discarded as if their lives don’t matter.
This is not tradition.
This is not necessity.
This is cruelty.
It’s time we speak up.
It’s time we choose compassion.
No animal should suffer just because it cannot protest.

BREAKING: Jakarta, which is the world’s largest city with more than 40 million residents, has banned the commercial trade, slaughter and sale of dogs and cats for meat after years of advocacy from the Dog Meat Free Indonesia coalition, of which Humane World for Animals is a founding member.
This is a major step toward ending Indonesia’s dog and cat meat trade—and we’re so grateful to all of our supporters who stood by our side!

“He had just delivered the final verdict in a horrific animal cruelty case. But he couldn't go back to his chambers until he visited the one victim who wasn't in the courtroom.
Judge Martin Wallace was a 30-year veteran of the bench. He was known for being stern, fair, and almost impossible to rattle.
But the case of "Finn" had kept him awake at night.
It wasn't just neglect; it was a deliberate, malicious act. The dog had been found chained in an empty apartment after neighbors reported a smell. He had been left with no food or water for weeks. The evidence photos of the emaciated animal were something Judge Wallace couldn't shake.
Today, he had delivered the verdict, sentencing the dog's abuser to the maximum penalty allowed, his voice booming with cold anger in the courtroom.
But as he slammed his gavel, he felt no victory. He just felt the crushing weight of the dog's suffering.
He didn't go to his chambers. He didn't even take off his robes. He walked past his stunned staff and drove his own car to the county animal shelter.
A vet tech met him at the door. "He's very weak, Your Honor," she warned. "And he's terrified of everyone. We haven't been able to get him to respond to much."
She led him to the medical ward. Judge Wallace looked into the kennel and saw a frail, skeletal pit bull, who just stared blankly at the wall.
The judge unhooked the kennel door and slowly knelt on the concrete floor.
"Hey, buddy," he said softly. "I'm Martin. I'm the one who... I'm the one who heard your story."
The dog, who hadn't moved for anyone, slowly turned his head. He shakily got to his feet, all ribs and bones, and took a wobbly step forward.
Then, to the vet's astonishment, the dog crept into the judge's lap, let out a long sigh, and began to gently lick the tears from his face.
"Oh my... he can't get enough of you," the vet tech whispered.
Judge Wallace, the toughest man in the courthouse, wrapped his arms around the frail dog, his voice thick with emotion. "I can't get enough of him, either. Look at this face."
He buried his face in the dog's neck, not caring about the robe.
"You're safe now, pal," he choked out. "You're all right. It's all over."
Judge Wallace visited Finn every week during his recovery.
Two months later, Finn was finally cleared for adoption. The shelter was flooded with offers, but they all knew there was only one person he was going home with.
Judge Wallace signed the final papers, and the dog who had been left for dead walked out the front door, right into his new life.” Credit: Melissa Houska
68 years ago today, #Laika was sent into space on an involuntary suicide mission. She became the first animal to orbit Earth, but died in agony just hours after launch as her capsule reached fatal temperatures.
Today we remember Laika & all victims of animal testing ❤️🩹🐶
