Are we in crisis or not? The Govt can’t have it both ways.

They claim the economy is stabilised and recovered, yet they continue crisis-era emergency controls like the forced conversion of export earnings.

Even if these restrictions give some short-term exchange rate stability, they must be temporary. Prolonged control undermines investor confidence, limits economic freedom, and hurts long-term growth.

Investors respond to policy certainty and freedom, not ongoing Govt curtailment.

අද මගේ රෝලර් ගේට්ටුව අලුත්වැඩියා කරන්න තරුණයෙක් ආවා.

ඇත්තම කියනවා නම්, මමත් මුලින් හිතුවේ මේක තවත් සාමාන්‍ය සේවා සපයන්නෙක් කියලා. මොකද මේ දවස්වල අපි බොහෝ දෙනාට අත්දැකීමක් තියෙනවා. ප්‍රශ්නයක් හදාගන්න කෙනෙක් ගෙන්නුවම, මුලින්ම අහන්න වෙන්නේ “මේක සම්පූර්ණයෙන් මාරු කරන්න ඕනේ”, “අර බෝඩ් එක ගිහින්”, “මෙහෙම වියදමක් යනවා” වගේ කතා.

ඒ නිසා මමත් එහෙමම බලාගෙන හිටියා.

හැබැයි මේ තරුණයා වෙනස්.

එයා ආවේ ලොකු වාහනයකින් නෙවෙයි. සාමාන්‍ය බයික් එකකින්.

ලොකු කතා නෑ. ලොකු පෙනුම් නෑ. “මම තමයි හොඳම” කියන ආකල්පයක් නෑ.

නිහඬව ආවා. ගේට්ටුව බැලුවා. ප්‍රශ්නය හඳුනාගත්තා. පැහැදිලි කරලා දුන්නා. වැඩේ කරලා දුන්නා.

ඒත් මාව වැඩිපුරම පුදුම ක��ේ එයාගේ දැනුමට වඩා එයාගේ නිහතමානීකම.

අද නගරයක අපි දකින්නේ දැනුම අඩු වුණත් ලොකු ලොකු කතා කරන අය. හැබැයි සමහර වෙලාවට ඇත්තටම වැඩ දන්න අය තමයි නිහඬව ඉන්නේ. සන්ජීව එහෙම කෙනෙක්.

වැඩේ කරන අතරතුර මම එක එක ප්‍රශ්න ඇහුවා.

කරන්ට් එක නැති වුණොත් මොකද කරන්නේ?
කේබල් එක කැඩුණොත්?
මැනුවල් ක්‍රමයට ගේට්ටුව අරින්නේ කොහොමද?

අද කාලේ ගොඩක් දෙනෙක් ඒවා තමන්ගේ රහස් වගේ තියාගන්නවා. ඒත් මේ තරුණයා මාවම ළඟට අරගෙන හැමදේම පෙන්නලා දුන්නා. ඉවසීමෙන් පැහැදිලි කරලා දුන්නා.

ඒ මොහොතේ මට තේරුණේ එයා ගේට්ටු හදන කෙනෙක් විතරක් නෙවෙයි කියලා. එයා තමන්ගේ වෘත්තියට ආදරය කරන කෙනෙක්.

අපි කතා කළේ බයික් ගැනත්. ජීවිතය ගැනත්. රැකියාව ගැනත්. අනාගතය ගැනත්.

කතාබහ අවසානයේ මට හිතුණේ එක දෙයක්.

අද සමාජයට අවශ්‍ය වෙලා තියෙන්නේ තවත් ලොකු බෝඩ් නෙවෙයි. තවත් ලොකු ප්‍රචාරණ නෙවෙයි. අවශ්‍ය වෙලා තියෙන්නේ ���න්ජීව වගේ අවංක, දැනුමැති, වෘත්තීයමය සහ නිහතමානී තරුණයන්.

අපි බොහෝවිට නරක අත්දැකීම් ගැන ලියනවා. පැමිණිලි කරනවා. විවේචනය කරනවා.

හැබැයි හොඳ මිනිස්සු ගැන ලියන්න අපිට අමතක වෙනවා.
