All About GOLD. History is Very Important!!!

There have been a lot of investors complaining that their SIP investment has gone negative over the past 1 year, while GOLD has returned nearly 40%.

GOLD is the only asset class that continues to expand, whereas equities is always RISKY and will only give a lower return than GOLD, based on the present GOLD surge.

Many investors may lack long-term vision, often forgetting past events and focusing solely on the present.

It would take someone who started investing in GOLD ETF on August 7, 2020, to September 16, 2022, which is 26 months more than two years. If you look at their SIP results, all of them were negative. If I just tell everyone, they'll think I'm crazy. Whatever my views are always baked by data, not just my opinion!

If the same person kept going for another 2.5 years, the XIRR today would be almost 18%. That's the power of compounding!

I have provided how the small cap returns delivered over the last 4 calendar years. 2019 to 2020 and 2020-2021 generated huge returns and just remind one thing, in those periods still we are not out of covid. In spite of covid, market delivered such a huge return.

In the year 2022, most of the funds are negative and few are slight positive. So many investors felt that market rallied 2 years and now it is time for the correction but in 2023 it did very well. Now again everyone worried about seeing this current year return they are not optimistic about the market. Though almost all the industries are in full swing operation and markets are in full fuel to grow further.

That’s why in the last column I have added 2022 and 2023 returns then (it is absolute, not CAGR) and it’s not great or nothing to really worry about.

I am not here to make any judgement or predictions about market. I always believe Markets are supreme, but at the same time if we are going with the market and stay invested as long as our goals are long term, we will certainly make good returns that’s what all the data point suggests.

Take action based on the last 4 years of performance and the future potential than seeing only the current year rally is the point I wanted to stress upon.
