Don't compare your P&L or lifestyle with the influencer flexes you see on social media. If you do, you'll end up blowing multiple accounts, either out of guilt or greed. Trading demands emotional discipline beyond what most people imagine.
That trader flexing a luxury car or a six figure month on your feed? You have no idea what account size they're risking, how many blown accounts came before that one screenshot, or whether that "profit" even exists past the edit. You're comparing your Chapter 1 to someone else's cherry picked highlight reel, and the market doesn't care about either.
Guilt shows up when you see someone making it look easy and you start doubting your own process, abandoning a strategy that was actually working because it wasn't printing fast enough. Greed shows up when you try to match someone else's returns by oversizing a position that has no business being that big for your account. Both roads lead to the same place, a blown account, and worse, a broken relationship with your own strategy.
Nobody talks about the drawdowns, the sleepless nights, the trades that went against every rule in a moment of weakness. Nobody posts the account that got wiped out chasing the exact lifestyle they now flex. You're only ever seeing the survivorship bias, the 1% still standing, or worse, the 1% still pretending to stand.
So focus on your process. Size your positions according to your own risk capacity, not some finfluencer's flexing capacity. Your risk tolerance, your capital, your psychology, your journey, none of it is the same as theirs, and none of it should be measured against theirs.
Discipline isn't glamorous. It doesn't trend. But it's the only thing that keeps you in the game long enough to actually build something real.

🙏🇮🇳 I’m an Australian 🦘 maths historian and I’m tired of watching the West take the applause for ideas India already had.

Baudhāyana before Pythagoras.

Āryabhaṭa before Galileo.

Brahmagupta before the West even accepted zero as a number.

Madhava before Newton.

Pingala before Fibonacci.

Ramanujan etc.

Yet still the textbooks bow to Europe first.

India’s gurus and rishis were not a footnote. Their ideas were copied, thinned out, renamed, and then sold back to Indian children as “Western maths.”

So I’m asking Indians directly:

If you could attend a talk by any 🇮🇳 Indian mathematician, living or historical, who I’ve mentioned on my X, who would you choose and why?

Reply with the name.

Tag a student, a teacher, or a parent who still thinks maths began in Greece.

If this history was hidden from you in school, this post is for you.
