Top 25% fastest lap average for GTD drivers at Daytona 24. Topped by Pier Guidi in the Ferrari. All four drivers in the #62 was inside the top 7!! Risi killed it this time.
We might not have gotten the best result due to a miss on strategy, but @PiFitti was the fastest driver on best 25% of laps. And I'm pretty happy with the run as well.
"Maybe Le Mans is trying to tell me I've already had my fair share of luck at Circuit de la Sarthe. In the first 6 attempts, I managed to finish on the podium 4 times. But since, efforts have been foiled every time. Probably be wise to take the hint." https://t.co/YxeDcHL5bj
The race pace of the LMP2 glory years was something to behold. I did a 3:30 in 2017 in the race. That's Hypercar pace now. And nearly 8 seconds faster than we do after the cars got gimped. No wonder my neck is barely sore today compared to the agony it was then.
A race full of ups and downs but we learn and grow together π
#Mighty38 finishes P13 in Hypercar

We go back, regroup and push hard onto Monza πThank you for your incredible support!

Congrats to @IE_Competition for winning LMP2! So happy for Scherer to get this despite being run over by a Corvette. Huge kudos to Andy, their engineer, who puts in superhuman effort to get to the front. Incredible turn-around for the team from last year! https://t.co/kFhn0DVyif
LMP2 drivers ranked by top 40 fastest laps average at #LM24. Superb drive by @RFrijns to top it by half a second! π Personally happy to be fifth fastest silver in such a tough field βοΈ
GTE Am drivers ranked by top 40 fastest laps average at #LM24. Topped by @BenBarkerMsport π. Overall super close. Sad to say goodbye to these amazing GTE machines!
Hypercar drivers ranked by top 40 fastest laps average at #LM24. @Anto_Fuoco tops it by quite the margin π. Ferrari quickest, but Toyota with Hartley very close, and Porsche not far off either with Makowiecki. BOP overall much better than feared!
This is also unique to the Hypercars. The P2 can be tricky on cold tires too, but not much different from IMSA. Looks the same with GT. This is a unique Hypercar issue. Really curious how this got so bad? Never seen race cars look like this on track in any series.
Iβve been behind these Hypercars on cold tires at multiple races now, and they all look insane trying to heat them. Not just Ferrari. This is completely unlike what it used to be with DPIs or other IMSA cars in the past. Dangerous not just for them, but for other classes as well.
Guaranteed there are no green savings when you factor in all the carbon fiber and other parts that are trashed. But what I donβt understand is why itβs so horrible for these Hypercars? IMSA has done without warmers forever. It was never this diabolical.
Need those tire warmers back. This just isnβt safe with those cars. Never seen any race car look as diabolical as a Hypercar on cold tires. Theyβre moving chicanes for over a lap.
