@CoachMeganRN@TheBlondeRN I am sure it has to be a crime to lie on your BON application and provide the state w fraudulent documents. So at minimum you would think they would be charged for that?? Also, what about the accrediting boards that certified the schools?
@CoachMeganRN@TheBlondeRN Impersonating as a nurse is a crime in Florida. Problem is with fake diplomas from accredited nursing schools and passing NCLEX, they applied and got legitimate licenses from BON.
@TraumaSoapBoxes 100%. In addition, we need to fix Nursing. Part of why nursing enrollment is down is b/c ppl don’t want to sacrifice money and time in a profession with poor staffing ratios, riddled with risks of burnout, violence, and now criminalization. Can we blame them?
@TraumaSoapBoxes It’s just not abt having more nursing schools. The rigor in programs 🫣 is changing and that’s concerning. The rise of for-profit schools hasn’t really helped and I am wary of many of them. Nurse educators are extremely underpaid. Also how did >7K ppl think it’s ok to do this? WTH
@chaecliff @TheBlondeRN I never had a RN or NP job that did not ask for copies of my licenses and diplomas. A few even wanted transcripts. If this wasn’t standard before, I sure it will be now.
@_CynthiaThurlow 5 days to help heal a frozen shoulder and injury. My pain significantly decreased and my range of motion increased so that I could do physical therapy. Worked too, didn’t need surgery.
@YourNurseLawyer Safety and pay both need to be addressed. Nurses have accepted unfair pay and tried to MacGyver bad work conditions for far too long. I am done with sacrificing any more than what I hv for the profession. I love patients, but I also love my life, my family and my self-worth.
@YourNurseLawyer The call for more nursing schools or increasing nursing programs scares me. There are some (not all) that are super expensive and poor quality. It’s also not treating the problem at the source.
@YourNurseLawyer @YourNurseLawyer - when I watched the hospital lawyer threaten the nurses with breach of contract and HIPAA if they spoke to police w/o the hospital present, I was wondering what your thoughts were? How is that even legal?
@YourNurseLawyer How are hospital systems not held accountable if the obstruction of the police investigation and threatening employees with HIPAA truly took place? How are these not considered criminal acts into terms of being an accomplice or coverup?
@YourNurseLawyer I think with boutique practices or startups, many NPs assume the company is acting in good faith and their policies are in compliance. This is due to beautiful public image or altruistic mission statement. We hv to be diligent w vetting employers and protecting our licenses &pts
