The #SistersinSpirit National Day of Action is a critical reminder that a staggering number of Indigenous women, girls and #2SLGBTQQIA+ people have tragically gone missing or been murdered across Canada. However, one day of recognition each year is not enough.
Today is not only a day to reflect on the tragic history of residential schools, but also a time to heal. As an Inuvialuk woman, I stand with families and survivors in remembering the precious lives stolen and in honouring the beauty of Indigenous peoples. #NDTR#OrangeShirtDay
Today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, known by many as Orange Shirt Day. Today and every day we must stand together and reflect on the path to truth, healing, and reconciliation. Read my statement on this important day here: https://t.co/CBhajAOo6l #NDTR
