St. Pius X beat rival Albuquerque Academy 15-2 to win the Class 4A Title at the State Baseball Championships. Here are some of the highlights (courtesy NFHS network)
Send help! I got a new job last December and have not been focused on my BOC CEUs. Where are some of your fave CEU spots? Yes I have the NATA ones and Gatorade ones.
@morris_atc Sad day. I loved reading your insights but I understand that you are more than an AT. I hope things are okay and you are doing well. I will continue to follow along because your insights are still wonderful even if they aren’t AT focused

This is an athlete who is in pain and looking to a person he trusts to help him. @proatc has the trust of every athlete there.
As ATs this is what we do. We are there for ALL aspects of the injury - physical and emotional.
I am beyond proud to be an athletic trainer. #ATPride
Now imagine this same scenario happens on a Friday night, or any other night, at a HS sporting event and there is no one there to provide life saving care. Every second counts in these situations. We must keep shouting, every athletes DESERVES an athletic trainer.
@CaitrATC Might also add before all the comments hit that I do not apply heavy pressure I use it much more like cross friction massage to help irritate the tissue but I still think my hands do the best work.
@CaitrATC I have seen good results and have been using it for some time. I have a bilateral ACL kid who feels like it gives her way more range of motion after treatment so if it makes her feel better that is good enough for me since we are in the business of making our athletes feel better
This whole post is a mood!!! Dr. Merriman again proves that what is acceptable by someone else’s standards is not how we should grade ourselves. Our patient outcomes and relationships built within the community prove what kind of professional you are!!
I can be “professional” by cheering for my athletes, with tattoos, purple hair, and calling my athletes and students my kids because professionalism is a construct made by white people to make themselves feel comfortable around everyone else. Stop gate keeping professionalism.
Dear coaches, admin, athletes, students, and everyone else:
This is a friendly reminder that the 2nd annual National Buy Your Athletic Trainer Coffee Day is Oct 27. THIS THURSDAY!!!
Find out your ATs preferred coffee (caffeinated beverage) of choice and given them a gift
@SchneidKyle@ayjm_DATATC@NDrumark@SchneidKyle I think the most important thing we can do is have a conversation about it. As someone who does not have children, I could not imagine being in the secondary setting and having children but I know it is possible because I have coworkers who do it every single day
@SchneidKyle@ayjm_DATATC@NDrumark@SchneidKyle I couldn’t agree more. This is why I think it’s so important to have varying opinions from females who have been or are both moms and athletic trainers. What works for some people will not work for others and there are some settings where balance can be possible
@mnhopper1s I think your topic is one which needs to be discussed and plans need to be made for how to bring together both sides so that the Athletes get what they need but we also do not run ourselves into the ground or run off opportunity
@mnhopper1s I think we were so focused on helping increase the “respect” for our profession that we didn’t think about the consequences of the changes we implemented. As someone who is between the Veteran and New, I often wonder how to help those entering the profession now
@Alex_Nikole I wouldn’t have believed it had I not tried it with my own kids. It stops the cramp within 2min and allows the athlete to stretch recover and hydrate. I have had a few kids return following taking the TUMS
@Alex_Nikole I have the same issue with athletes going both ways. We have discussed hydration and nutrition the week of the game but I still have kids who cramp. Talked to an AT who works with tri-athletes and marathon runners and she swears by TUMS
