For Shy a griffin growling at her is very personal because its based on their feelings and thoughts on her

@twinklelace @levitidash Fluttershy has special connection to animals and understands them way better than she does other ponies/sentient creatures. She knows how to handle animal in distress but she lacks a lot of social skills and confidence to navigate a confrontation situation with someone like Gilda
