DiDi Autonomous Driving is working with local partners in the UAE to advance Robotaxi applications in the market, with testing and pilot initiatives planned for later this year.

Speaking at the UAE-China Business Promotion Conference in Beijing, Zhang Bo, Co-founder of DiDi and CEO of DiDi Autonomous Driving, said the UAE will be the company’s first international market.

Building on DiDi’s international operations experience and its integrated capabilities across AI, hardware and mobility scenarios, DiDi Autonomous Driving is launching its global expansion through a localized approach.

A hybrid mobility network is the optimal path to kick-start autonomous driving, according to Zhang Bo, CEO of DiDi Autonomous Driving.

Zhang spoke at the 2026 Intelligent Electric Vehicle Development Forum in Beijing today, where he emphasized in a keynote speech that safety and user experience form the foundation of autonomous driving.

He added that DiDi Autonomous Driving is exploring a sustainable path through a hybrid mobility network, leveraging its full-stack L4 capabilities and localized operational experience to help bring China’s autonomous driving technologies to the global stage.

At the forum, DiDi Autonomous Driving’s latest-generation Robotaxi vehicle was also showcased.

DiDi has launched an AI-powered ride assistant in China that lets riders book and personalize their rides. It supports 90+ service tags (e.g. air quality, larger trunk space) and turns rider preferences into better matches.

Since its launch, the feature has seen active use, with top preferences including fast and affordable rides (57%), fresh air (12.5%), and the nearest car (9.9%).

This #InternationalWomensDay, DiDi celebrates women who move cities every day — both riders and driver partners.

Across China, DiDi launched appreciation activities in more than 50 cities, inviting female drivers to share their experiences, suggestions, proud moments, and personal wishes — helping their stories be seen and heard. Building on this feedback, DiDi introduced enhanced safety protections, activities, and benefits for female drivers.

In November 2025, DiDi upgraded its female driver preference feature into the “DiDi Women-Friendly Program”. Survey data shows it has increased female drivers’ sense of safety by 14%, with satisfaction 12% higher than the platform average.
