Passwords are the weakest part of most systems. People reuse them, they leak in breaches, and every site you use is storing one on a server that might eventually be compromised.

DigiByte has had an alternative to this for years. It is called Digi-ID.

The site shows a QR code. You scan it with your wallet and approve with a PIN or fingerprint. The wallet signs the request with a key that never leaves your device, and the site verifies the signature and logs you in.

Nothing to remember. Nothing for the site to store. No name, phone number or date of birth sent, because the authenticator never had them.

It also generates a different address for every site, so two services cannot compare records and work out they are dealing with the same person. That login address is separate from your coins.

Most people in crypto still have not heard of it.
