There was this male VTuber complaining that he doesn’t get much attention compared to female-presenting VTubers. A lot of people correctly pointed out that he simply hadn’t put in the consistent work.

It’s funny how far from the truth some of these loud complaints are. Personally I’ve benefited a lot from being a male VTuber because there aren’t many of us. As a Black male VTuber, artists often tell me they’re sick of drawing the same white women and are excited for more diversity. I also love the creative challenge of trying to stand out.

Whether you go the SFW or NSFW route is up to you. The truth is, it’s easy to blame everyone else instead of taking accountability. Success requires marketing yourself and actually putting in the work. No one is going to hand it to you on a silver platter.

Sidebar: Complaining can net you some quick views, but there’s a trade-off. People can smell inauthenticity and engagement bait from a mile away. They prefer genuine, consistent content.

He probably won’t see this, but if you’re in this space: stay a student of the game. Blaming others is easy. Doing the work is what actually matters.
