When I worked at Marathon Middle/High School, the teacher in who's classroom I helped as a paraprofessional is one of the best and kindest people I have ever worked with. I am thankful for Lara and I am glad that there are kind and non-vindictive people like her!
252 years ago today, the British Empire closed the busiest port in North America to teach one colony a lesson, and accidentally turned thirteen colonies into one country.
On December 16, 1773, a few dozen Bostonians had thrown 342 chests of East India Company tea into the harbor. The damages came to roughly £9,659. Lord North, the Prime Minister, decided to make an example. Parliament passed the Boston Port Act. King George III signed it on March 31, 1774. It took effect at dawn on June 1.
The Royal Navy moved warships into Boston Harbor and dropped anchor. Every dock was sealed. No ship could enter or leave. Not a barrel of flour, not a load of firewood, not a letter. The port would stay closed until Boston paid the East India Company in full and promised to behave.
The intent was to isolate Massachusetts and force her neighbors to watch her starve.
What happened instead is one of the strangest political miracles in modern history.
Down in Williamsburg, a 31 year old burgess named Thomas Jefferson and a few friends, including Patrick Henry and Richard Henry Lee, pulled a dusty old book off the shelf of the House of Burgesses library, a record of how the Long Parliament had once handled a tyrant, and proposed that the entire colony of Virginia observe June 1, 1774 as a day of "fasting, humiliation, and prayer" in solidarity with Boston.
The Royal Governor, Lord Dunmore, dissolved the House two days later for treason. The burgesses simply walked across the street to the Raleigh Tavern and kept meeting.
June 1 came. In Virginia, every Anglican church was draped in black. The bells tolled all day. Plantation owners shut their doors. Jefferson wrote later that "the effect of the day through the whole colony was like a shock of electricity."
The same shock ran through every colony south of New England. Wagon trains of food started rolling toward Boston from as far away as Charleston. The Marblehead fishermen offered to give the Boston merchants the use of their docks for free. A Quaker miller in Pennsylvania sent a hundred barrels of flour. Israel Putnam personally drove a herd of sheep from Connecticut to feed the city.
Three months later, 56 delegates from twelve colonies sat down together in Philadelphia. It was called the First Continental Congress. None of them had ever met under one roof before.
Parliament wanted to punish a city. It created a nation.
252 years ago today, in a harbor full of Royal Navy frigates, the American Revolution stopped being a Massachusetts problem.
My mother wasn’t ready to be a parent, but she chose Life. I was adopted and raised on a farm, where I would learn the value of hard work and go on to enlist in the US Army.
I’ll always be thankful my mother chose life. I will always fight for the unborn. #ProLife
On the evening of May 23, Daniel C. Green created an image that created a ripple effect across the internet—and possibly the American patriotic landscape as we know it.
In response to a post online requesting an image portraying Lewis and Clark in the style of J.R.R. Tolkien's Amoranth (as popularized by the early 2000s movies). Before doing so, Green researched what it would take to make such a monument and how to make the design correctly. He then fed a detailed prompt into an AI model and shared his photo response.
Little did he know the reaction that the public would have to this photo.
Over a span of 24 hours, the post amassed hundreds, thousands, and ultimately millions of views, creating a bipartisan fervor for the concept:
Two 300-foot-tall copper statues of Lewis and Clark along the Missouri River in Montana, hollowed on the inside for defense, tourism, the private sector, research, libraries, or a multitude of other purposes.
The idea spread rapidly, drawing people wanting to put money towards the project, debating on the best way to do it, and questioning why America no longer raises such emaculate, megalithic monuments to the American past any longer.
Upon reading dozens—and then hundreds, to thousands—of these responses, many from notable figures, Green began to ponder if there was a legitimate tailwind behind this conceptual project.
Early on Monday morning, Green learned that multiple people of note had taken an interest in this concept, requesting that the project actually be started. These included a political reporter with a multi-million-person following, the CEO of the American Conservation Coalition, and Senator Eric Schmitt (who publicly endorsed the idea).
The idea was further popularized by a notable foundry in France—Atelier Missor.
All of these factors combined caused Green to start floating an idea—that he could personally spearhead the project. This idea gained instantaneous popularity to the extent that, within hours, he had been connected with famous monument makers, connected with hundreds of potential donors and contributors, and witnessed the idea spread like wildfire.
Progress has happened rather quickly. Green has created a landing page for this project, directing people to follow the page closely as he secures a 501(c)(3) sponsor to begin taking donations for the project.
These donations will fund an artistic rendering, a small clay model that will be reproduced through a 3D company run by a supporter of the project, a 10-foot scale model of the statue, surveying of the land, and ultimately funding the construction of the megalithic statue.
This is a massive undertaking from Daniel C. Green, his company, The Eagle Eye, and the undertaking to preserve America's past for the future.

#OTD May 19, 363:
Violent earthquakes and ball lightning struck Jerusalem during the night and early morning, destroying much of the material gathered to rebuild the Jewish Temple. The project had been strongly supported by the pagan Emperor Julian as part of his effort to undermine Christianity. The dramatic events were recorded by pagan, Jewish, and Christian writers alike, and the rebuilding was abandoned.
Yesterday on the National Mall at Rededicate 250, I reflected on the generations of Americans who built and preserved this nation through faith, courage, sacrifice, and perseverance.
Our Founders declared a revolutionary truth 250 years ago: our rights come from God, not government.
The American Dream is real because America remains a place where faith and freedom can turn impossibility into reality. 🇺🇸

🚨 NOW: SecWar Pete Hegseth says it PERFECTLY in front of thousands of Christians
"Washington bows his head. Amid all the bleak nights, the loss and despair, the lack of proper support, George Washington performed a profound act. He prayed, and on this day of rededicate 250, let us follow George Washington's example."
"Let us pray as he did. Let us pray without ceasing."
"Let us pray for our nation on bended knee. And let us ask our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as Washington did on that momentous day. So help us God."
"May God bless you, and may God continue to bless our great Republic."

🚨 NOW: Secretary Marco Rubio DROPS this incredible Christian message
We are a Christian nation! 🇺🇸
"On this day, two and a half centuries ago, our forefathers gathered for the second time in as many years for a national day of fasting and prayer."
"The resolution of the Continental Congress called on the 13 colonies to humble themselves in preparation for the coming war. The founders were not naive men."
"They had no guarantees of victory. They knew that what they were trying to do had never been done before in human history. But with the dark storm clouds of war looming on the horizon, they did what Christians have always done."
"Across place and time for 2,000 years, they turned their eyes to heaven and placed their fate in the hands of God. This is who we are. It is who we have always been."
"America is still a young nation measured against a record of history, and from the beginning, we have carried the belief that our country represents something new in the world."
"But the soul of our nation has always been rooted in an ancient faith."
🚨 BEAUTIFUL: Thousands of British just recited the Lord's Prayer at Unite the Kingdom rally in London
THESE are the "extremists" Keir Starmer defamed.
"Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For light is the kingdom, the power, and the glory for ever and ever. Amen." 🙏🏻

“Tonight, at my direction, brave American forces and the Armed Forces of Nigeria flawlessly executed a meticulously planned and very complex mission to eliminate the most active terrorist in the world from the battlefield. Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, second in command of ISIS…” - President Trump
A Washington state prison, some years ago, allowed well-behaving prisoners to own a homeless animal that was going to be euthanized otherwise.
As a result, the prisoners became nicer and calmer. Convicts even worked harder to get toys for their pets.
Last night U.S. forces, in coordination with the Armed Forces of Nigeria, killed Abu-Bilal al-Minuki and other ISIS leaders.
Back in November 2025, President Trump declared to the world that we will help protect Christians in Nigeria and instructed the Department of War to prepare for action. So, for months, we hunted this top ISIS leader in Nigeria who was killing Christians, and we killed him—and his entire posse.
In conjunction with Nigeria’s President, and at the direction of President Trump, U.S. Africa Command oversaw a precise operation to remove this terrorist.
Abu-Bilal al-Minuki was the senior ISIS General Directorate of Provinces Emir — the number two for ISIS globally — responsible for overseeing the planning of attacks, directing hostage-taking and managing financial operations. The removal of him and other ISIS personnel makes Americans safer by further degrading ISIS’s ability to plan and carry out attacks that threaten the U.S. homeland, American citizens, and innocent civilians.
Operations like last night’s demonstrate the exceptional lethality, patience and skill of U.S. forces, amplified alongside willing and capable partners, to address shared threats. This should serve as a reminder that we will hunt down those who wish to harm Americans or innocent Christians, wherever they are.
@elonmusk Honestly Angel Studios, Sight & Sound, and Loor are all making much more entertaining, higher quality, and less preachy films and shows than mainstream Hollywood is!
