3/10 O is w nymph Calypso. Gods tell him to let him go. O says no to immortality. Poseidon (God of Sea) seeking revenge. O stabbed P's son cyclops and bragged. P shipwrecks O on Phaecia. O tells his story. “Wanderings of Odysseus”.

8/10 Sirens. Sea monster Scylla. Men eat sungod’s cattle; gods get mad and destroy more ships. O saved by Calpyso. Finally gets home. Pretends to be beggar. Shoots arrow through 26 axes to prove identity. Telemechas does too. Suitors and maids thrown out.

7/10 Cannibals, shipwrecks. Cue Circe. Men who succumb to her charms are pigs. Literally. O flirts, doesn’t submit. Circle sends O to underworld. O sees his dead mom & a bunch of heroes. Their message: It’s better to live as the poorest servant in the world than to be dead.

6/10 O finds the Cyclops: cannibalistic one-eyed giants. Polyphemus traps O in a cave. O fights back, claims to be "no man" (god), P looses eye. Angry Dad Poseidon. Aeolus, wind god, tries to help O. Greedy men think bag of wind is gold; let winds go. Wind god won’t help again.

5/10 Nausicaa – cute princess does her laundry, witnesses a shipwreck, rescues Odysseus. Her parents give him a boat, directions, and send him on his way. The gods aren’t thrilled Odysseus got help – they sink the island. Might be Atlantis.

4/10 Storms blew O & men to Lotus-eaters: not hostile but no memory or ambition. Odysseus says no to drugs. The island is falling apart; if a whole society is on drugs, no one is responsibly taking care of the area.

2/10: Queen Penelope misses her husband. Other people want to marry her to become king. Suitors are all unworthy slobs. The maids are sleeping with the suitors. Swipe left. Son T. goes off on a quest.

1/10: Invocation to the muses by Homer. In Medias Res (middle). Odysseus has been gone too long – deployed to Troy plus another 10 years getting shipwrecked and sleeping around. He’s cursed.
