Time for some detox. Oslo β Frankfurt: My Last Business Flight Before the Summer Season. Still some customer meetings more, but without flying. π
I stopped counting cities and countries a long time ago. What I still remember β vividly β is every single person I spoke with on this journey: customers, partners, distributors, competitors, journalists, members of the open source community, and policymakers. This world is full of remarkable people and extraordinary knowledge. Together, we find ways to overcome every crisis and keep moving forward! πͺ
Iβm well aware that new technologies always carry risks. They always have. Yet the opportunities they create β especially in medicine, education, and science β are immeasurably greater. In every one of these conversations, I came away with fresh ideas about modern IT solutions and the ethical, responsible implementation of artificial intelligence. And at the core of it all stands the incredible strength of open source solutions.β€οΈ
This year on LinkedIn, Iβve shared several reflections that continue to shape my thinking: how open source drives economic resilience, enables transparency in AI development, and accelerates collaborative innovation across industries. These conversations only reinforced what I already deeply believe. Some more blogs coming very soon. π
Red Hatβs comprehensive portfolio β built on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat OpenShift (our leading platform for containers, Kubernetes, and AI workloads), Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, and our dedicated Red Hat AI offerings β gives organizations exactly what they need: a secure, open, and scalable foundation to deploy AI responsibly across hybrid cloud environments.β
Recent data shows just how rapidly this is happening. According to McKinseyβs State of AI 2025 survey, 88% of organizations now regularly use AI in at least one business function. The Stanford AI Index 2026 reports that generative AI reached 53% population adoption in just three years β faster than the PC or the internet.π
At the same time, the global open source community continues to thrive. In 2025 alone, GitHub welcomed 36 million new developers, and the community delivered 1.12 billion contributions to public repositories β a 13% increase year-over-year. Red Hat consistently ranks among the top contributors worldwide, a testament to the power of this ecosystem.π
It is this combination β remarkable people, responsible technology, and the unstoppable force of open source β that fills me with real optimism for what lies ahead.π€
Oslo is that magical place where you can literally hike in the forest in the morning and eat world-class sushi by the fjord in the evening. Nature, food, and good vibes!π²π£ποΈ #Oslo
Yesterday, I spent the day in Berlin with leading IT professionals from Germany at an event organized by Bitkom . Today, Iβm in Oslo with IT leaders from across Europe, as guests of Atea Norge AS , one of the top IT companies in the Nordic region. Itβs a real privilege to spend my days surrounded by so many smart and wonderful people. Excited to be attending the Atea Executive Event 2026 here in Oslo! This exclusive, invitation-only gathering brings together Ateaβs senior leadership and key partners for two days of high-impact strategic discussions, one-on-one meetings, and collaborative planning.
6:30 am. Itβs a shame to leave Berlin this early. The city has that nice, low-key morning calm right now β coffee spots just opening, a few joggers in Tiergarten, and the U-Bahn still pleasantly empty. But I saw my daughter last night too, and that makes life good. β€οΈ
Finally at the coast. Just one day, but enough to recharge my batteries for the travels and work ahead.ββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββπ
At my parentsβ house, only my dad actually enjoys being photographed. I think it shows in the pictures. With everyone else, I have to sneak around and secretly snap shots. The problem is that they all have internet and see the photos right away. They end up half-annoyed and half-pleased. So go ahead and give them some likes β it makes them happy! π
Itβs a beautiful sunny day here in Karlovac, my beloved hometown β€οΈ, with the temperature rising to a warm 35 degrees Celsius. π₯ This charming city is proudly known as the City of Four Rivers β the Kupa, Korana, MreΕΎnica, and Dobra β whose waters converge right here, creating a unique and lush natural setting.
The Korana River (here on pictures) stands out in particular with its crystal-clear, emerald waters that gently wind through the city and surrounding area, offering refreshing spots to cool down and enjoy nature even on the hottest summer days.
Founded in 1579 as a six-pointed star-shaped Renaissance fortress to defend against Ottoman invasions, Karlovac carries a proud and fascinating military history that can still be seen in the layout of its historic center.
Fun fact: Construction of the city officially began on July 13, 1579 β and to this day, locals celebrate that exact date every year as the official birthday of their city!ββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ π₯
I woke up after the concert absolutely filled with wonderful energy and ready for a full day of music. The concert sounded absolutely magical. The moment the first notes filled the air, the whole venue came alive with raw emotion, powerful vocals, and that warm, soul-stirring sound that only live music can deliver.
Yesterday I visited Slavonia for the very first time in my life β never before.
And last night I slept in Jastrebarsko, a peaceful, charming little town, close to my home town Karlovac, for the first time ever.
Most of my followers probably have no idea where that is, so I apologize for the geography lesson. Next week Iβm back to more familiar grounds: Berlin and Oslo. Stay tuned.
PS. Dinko starter pack. Always and everywhere.
