Manila’s Finest review that no one asked for and spoiler free (i think?) 😂
I honestly expected Manila’s Finest to be heavy in the sense that it would make me cry over heartbreaking scenes. But no, I found myself crying out of anger.
The film is a painful reminder that even decades ago, the system was already deeply broken. Corruption, abuse of power, and injustice were not new problems. They were already woven into the fabric of society. Yet throughout history, there have been remarkable people who stood up, left a mark, and ignited a fire within others to fight for justice. And yet, here we are. 🙃
Despite the legacies they left behind, we seem to be going in circles. Someone rises, challenges the system, leaves behind a message, and then time passes, and the same patterns repeat. The system remains so broken that progress feels fragile, almost temporary. The fire is lit, but it is constantly at risk of burning out unless we choose to keep it alive.
What makes Manila’s Finest hit harder is how painfully relevant it is to our present reality. Watching it today, in a country still plagued by corruption and greed, feels less like a period film and more like a mirror. It reminds us that the fight against a corrupt system does not end with one generation. It demands persistence, courage, and collective action. Especially NOW. Kaya Pilipinas, tuloy ang laban. IKULONG ANG MGA KURAKOT!!!
Kudos to the director, cast, and crew of Manila’s Finest for creating a film that doesn’t just entertain, but confronts. For telling a story that is bold, uncomfortable, and necessary. And for reminding us that the responsibility to keep the fire burning rests with us.
Congratulations in advance!

@Tink13763566 Chreeeeeeeeeeeeew!
Syempre, after todo-emote si Juswa as Brad at dun mo maiintindihan why he resents Tupe's presence so much, kay Papa P pa rin ang end-game ng highlight fam confro scene na yun dahil sya pala ang may pinakamatinding hugot na backstory. 1/2
@Dionasher18
@peppermintpex And he handled that scene so well with the required nuances & restraint but without the histrionics a lesser actor would normally resort to.
Bravo!! 👏👏👏 2/2
