Lisa Nandy’s response to me just now in the Commons was a disgrace, deliberately conflating anti-Zionism with antisemitism.

In my question, I made it clear that Maccabi Tel Aviv is inextricably linked to — and part of the fabric of — the apartheid Israeli state.

The boycott of regimes such as apartheid South Africa was a legitimate political movement — lasting more than 30 years and recognised internationally as a moral necessity to end apartheid.

To label my stance as antisemitic, as she did in the chamber, is a baseless and desperate smear.
