As we expand our digital infrastructure and enhance digital skilling, we aim to ensure Kenyans utilise the opportunities created.
I met with the ESports Kenya Federation officials who paid me a courtesy call.
I am impressed with how they are using their skills on digital platforms to tap onto opportunities in this sector.
The global gaming industry is valued at 190 billion US dollars, with Kenya Video gaming market valued at 114 Million US dollars as 2024.
Politics aside. The online attacks being thrown at the @MoICTKenya CS, Hon. Kabogo show how much citizens can abuse social media privileges in a country. That energy should be redirected towards evaluating government agenda in the ministry and not the former.
We shall lead the young people in vehemently advocating for change in the Rugby Union. They either offer formidable solution or we offer them solutions,-which is to occupy the containers for a candid conversation.
Itโs always refreshing to interact with Wananchi and listen to them. This morning, along the Aga Khan Walk, I got the opportunity to interact with Kenyans after visiting the Directorate of Information offices, which are located at Uchumi.
Among those I interacted with was David Keya, a young man who earns a living through street photography. I was delighted to see the level of creativity and enthusiasm exhibited by Keya. He represents millions of young Kenyans outside here using their skills to earn a living.
We, at the @MoICTKenya are establishing 1,450 digital hubs, and WIFI hotspots countrywide to support our youth to increase their clientele through opportunities presented by digital platforms. Dagoretti Jitume Centre of Excellence
Today, I joined HE President William Ruto for a development tour of Nairobi County where, among other initiatives, he laid the foundation stone for the Dagoretti Jitume Centre of Excellence.
The Centre of Excellence will increase opportunities for youth in the Dagoretti South region in the digital space while also boosting skills training and innovation.
Many youth across the country are already benefitting from the Digital Hubs as many have found decent employment online.
The number of online workers under the Ajira and Jitume programme surged exponentially from 41,382 in 2022 to 182,568 in 2025, proving the potential of the digital economy in creating jobs.
As we enter week 5 of expanding our intergenerational dialogues across the country, it was refreshing to hear over 25,000 young students and community leaders representing eight counties declare: itโs time we move from SHOUTING at each other to TALKING to each other.
Allowing ourselves to leverage the exponential potential and innovative ideas of our young people, while integrating these ideas with the wisdom and experience of our older generation, is a national breakthrough!
MAMA KENYA LOVES YOU AND CELEBRATES YOU!
