Waiting in the hospital for Nan’s appointment to get her eyes checked after a recent infection.
Every single time someone’s name is called…
Nan: who?
Me: not you
Every. Single. Time. 😩 #Nanisms
Visiting Nan with my three year old. She watched me take her plaits out and put her hair in bunches yet has asked me three times if she’s had a perm. No, funnily enough, no chemicals on the pre-schoolers hair 🤣 #Nanisms
Nan: have you driven this way before?
My husband: er, yeah.
Nan: hmm.
Two seconds later:
Nan: have you been to this place before?
My husband: yeah.
🥺 #XmasNanisms
Nan: where are we going?
My Husband: to your daughters house
Nan: have you been there before?
My Husband: yes… [very confused as we have visited on multiple occasions over the last two years, with her!]
——-
I don’t think she realises who is driving. 🫠 #XmasNanisms
Nan: there are no driveways, it’s a disgrace!
Me: we live on a road of Victorian terraces, they didn’t have cars when they built the houses Nan
Nan: well that’s stupid.

Bear in mind she has never learned to drive herself. #XmasNanisms
In car to visit my mum. Nan in the front, I’m sandwiched between the elderly dog and my three year old in the back.
3yo: “Grandma draw me a picture!!”
Nan delivers this gem.
3yo: “What is THAT?!”
Nan: “I don’t fucking know! I hate art!”

Bank holiday weekend with…. Nan!! In the car…
My husband: Have you been up to much?
Nan: *silence*
My husband: Ruth? Have you been up to much?
Nan: *silence*
Me: Grandma he’s talking to you!
My husband: Have you been up to much?
Nan: Oh hi, what have I had for lunch??

@beckycbrynolf Mothercare is still a clothing brand at Boots if that helps? John Lewis is super helpful, even if you don’t end up buying it from there, the advice they gave is good and can gear you up for alternatives (eg we ended up getting car seat from Halfords in the end)!
