#PIP
The DWP began extending hundreds of thousands of personal independence payment (PIP) awards last month. This is a matter of enormous consequence for claimants, yet the department has published almost no information about what is happening.

#Tories
The Conservative party is refusing to say who has been appointed to lead a “landmark” review of disability benefits or to provide any details of how they will engage with disabled people, more than three weeks after it was launched.

#FoodInsecurity
Food insecurity* is a “widespread, severe, and systemic” issue for disabled people, with rising food costs a “significant” challenge, according to evidence submitted to an inquiry

#RailwaysBill

#Media
major broadcaster has been unable to provide an explanation for why high-profile presenters are failing to challenge politicians & commentators who repeat false claim that spending on social security needs 2 be cut because it is out of control.

#PIP
(PIP) is increasingly vital to disabled people to fill in the gaps caused by cuts to services, but there are “deep-rooted” problems with how it is delivered, an interim report from the government’s PIP review has concluded

#TimmsReview
The Timms review interim report issued argues that it must be “radical” & bold” in its recommendations for changes to (PIP). However, it’s clear that the panel still have no clue what these recommendations should be.

@cookiebilbo2024 The post was a point in response to someone saying disabled people should provide receipts to prove what we spend the money on. Why should we. It’s general bills and the extras as mentioned above we have to pay for
#PIP
To the public:
PIP is not an out of work benefit. It’s to meet the additional costs incurred due to your disability. It pays for taxis as public transport is inaccessible for disabled people it pays for medications no longer available on the NHS
@rjenkins00 Try bills. Trying to survive Ryan. Also take this with you. 1 in 6 families have a disabled person in the household which are living in poverty.
#DWP#UniversalCredit
What have you to say to this @andyburnham ?
We're hunting jobs our disabled son can't do,' say parents in DWP nightmare

To the media:
There are only 87,961 people aged 16-21 assigned to LCW/LCWRA/ESA ("health" benefits)
That's just under 2% of 16-21 yr old population
Over last 26 yrs average NEET rate in England for 16-24 yr olds has been 13%
Current (2025) NEET rate is 13.3%
Interim PIP Review peppers in ignorant contributions from Call for Evidence (e.g. 👇) yet fails to include any contributions from people who sent in evidence protesting the plan to make PIP the sole gateway for health & disability benefits
Whatever helps push underlying agenda
