if you wanna stan an artist purely for themselves and not for what the company has given you, then ask them to produce their OWN albums from start to finish and have full creative control over every aspect of their work 🤧 because otherwise, you really can’t separate the artist from the production and creative direction that helped shape the artist you’re stanning in the first place.

and that’s exactly why the conversation around artists leaving their original company and suddenly “making bad music” exists 😭 it’s not necessarily that they suddenly lost their talent or forgot how to make music. they’re simply no longer working within the same production team, resources, creative direction and overall system that contributed to the sound and identity people originally fell in love with.

people love to say “it’s the artist, not the company” until the artist leaves and their music suddenly sounds completely different 😭 like… clearly the company was part of the equation all along.
