The Standard Model of Particle Physics is the best theory we currently have that describes all known fundamental particles and three of the four fundamental forces:
• Particles: It includes quarks (which make up protons and neutrons), leptons (electrons, neutrinos, etc.), and force-carrying bosons (photon for electromagnetism, gluons for strong force, W and Z bosons for weak force, and the Higgs boson).

It is a quantum field theory — meaning it treats particles as excitations of underlying quantum fields and has been tested to incredible accuracy in particle accelerators like the LHC.

2. What is Quantum Gravity?
Quantum Gravity is the hypothetical theory that would successfully combine General Relativity (Einstein’s theory of gravity as curvature of spacetime) with Quantum Mechanics (the rules that govern the very small, like particles and fields).
The goal is to create a single framework that works at both cosmic scales (gravity) and subatomic scales (quantum behavior). Currently, when physicists try to quantize gravity using the same methods as the Standard Model, the math breaks down — it produces infinite, non-physical results (called “non-renormalizable divergences”).
