Great damage occurs when leaders use power to silence, cover up abuses theoretically “for the sake of God’s work” – in other words, they have withheld using their power for good out of fear and self-protection.

Problem solving models:
When the “presenting problem” is a polarity (two increasingly conflictual “sides”)
The solution isn’t “middle ground”

The solution is to discover the fulcrum that the polarity “hangs on” and target that for change

Middle ground leaves both sides dissatisfied and often real issues unresolved. You must target 2nd and 3rd order belief systems on both “sides”.
