Peter’s origin completely contradicts this. Immediately upon getting his powers, Peter starts using them for personal gain, which is what “anyone” would actually do if put in his position. His choice to do good after Uncle Ben is murdered is what makes him so aspirational. People just like to say the “anyone can wear the mask” shit cause they’re complete narcissists that don’t understand Peter at all.
@SwingLeftBR@SwingLeftBR any other way to handle context? Nah, just skip the part where she stabbed 2 people (one dead), and was told multiple times to stand down and she didn’t. You’re just a lazy fucking pig.
Andrew Garfield says he still believes a gay Spider-Man could happen:
“I just still believe that anyone can be in that suit. That’s the point of why it’s such a kind of universally beloved character, one of the greatly beloved characters in the history of fiction, is because you don’t see skin color, you don’t see gender, you don’t see sexuality. Anyone can project themselves into that suit.”
