Apparently, there were reportsthat reruns of Hailey's On It! was supposed to air on Wednesday, June 29 at 3:30pm on Disney XD. That has now since been pulled and replaced with Lilo & Stitch: The Series. So either it was just a placeholder, or had cold feet.
@5iveroundsrapid@UltraHDBluray@piperocktheory Sony wanted their own format and they were essentially forced to work with Toshiba on one unified format as to avoid repeating the VHS/Betamax format war, meaning Sony missed out on those sweet royalties....
they weren't gonna budge with Blu-Ray
@ZayneDaZygarde@ThePeiceofNick@DisneyBeat101@MeTVtoons They aren't responsible for any restorations of the shows they air, as that responsibility falls onto the rights holders (if you want to blame someone for that, blame Wildbrain). As a channel, they mainly use what's been provided to them
Poster for the Fourth and final season of The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder. Streaming July 29 on Disney+.
Additionally, a new stop-motion animated Holiday special "A Proud Family Wizmas" will premiere this Holiday season on Disney+.
RIP to Daveigh Chase. She was best known for voicing Lilo Pelekai in the Lilo & Stitch Franchise. She was also the voice of Chihiro Ogino/Sen in Spirited Away. Cause of death was complications from Meningitis. She was 35 years old. 💔
Disney Branded Television, the division that oversees Disney Channel and Disney Jr, is officially changing their name to Disney Kids and Family (the new name is also better reflective of their production slate of originals as well as third Party acquisitions and Disney+ releases)
Juneteenth (Friday, June 19) on Disney Channel has The Proud Family Movie (2005) at 11 am, followed by a Zombies: The Re-Animated Series Marathon at 12:40 pm, and Big City Greens Marathon featuring Remy at 3:05 pm.
My assumption and it's been repeated by others is that it's probably just poor ratings due to lack of promotion on-air. It's a shame but it's nice some shows shows did air, some for the first time in nearly a decade.
Austin & Ally was originally going to air Thu, June 25 from 5-8 pm. It would've been the first time it has aired on Disney Channel since December 23, 2022 but that has since been pulled. Streaming on Disney+.
Additionally, Teen Beach Movies 1 & 2 were also pulled
Question for those with Cable or Live TV Subscription are you seeing some current Disney Channel shows (e.g. Kiff, Chibiverse) on Disney XD On Demand instead or vice versa?
Here's my situation:
DC On Demand
- Big City
- PnF
- Zombies
DXD On Demand
- Ladybug
- Kiff
- Chibi
I'm late for mentioning this, but RIP to Robert Carradine. He was best known for roles in the Revenge of the Nerds franchise, played Sam McGuire on Disney Channel's Lizzie McGuire. He died from suicide on February 23, 2026. He was 71 years old.
To promote the release of Toy Story 5 in theaters June 19, Disney Channel will air Toy Story 4 (2019) again the same day at 8 pm ET/PT.
The Toy Story Toons short, Small Fry will air again at 6:05 pm followed by Soul (2020) at 6:15 pm.
@amarijordann@DisneyBeat101 Plus with things looking dire for cable, it's no surprise that these networks have to rely on the same few surefire hits just to make things meet (why do you think Nickelodeon relies endlessly on SpongeBob while CN has their big 2010s shows and Scooby-Doo)
@DisneyBeat101 Heck, if you think about it, Disney's whole throwback push for the legacy Disney Channel library on Disney+ did kinda hurt this event since it essentially told those seeking out these shows to go get them on Disney+
@DisneyBeat101 honestly....
would advertising have even helped it? Maybe it could've given it more prominence, but I sorta feel the ratings would've been the same
