More than a year and a half ago, our team came together and asked ourselves what could be helpful for Ts as they develop a more intentional, culturally responsive, and antiracist literacy practice. And based on our work w/ kids, we arrived at these core principles. #DisruptTexts

What questions do you have for us? #DisruptTexts
Racism requires for its perpetrators to separate the human from the body, or dehumanization. It has internal effects & the thing is, it's killing us all. It is murdering many of us and rotting White America.
I want to address white people who built successful careers off of "studying" Black, Latinx, and/or Indigenous communities: have you offered space/training opportunities/mentoring/tangible resources to members of the community whose suffering you benefit from? If not, why not?
NOW AVAILABLE from @PenguinClassics and @DisruptTexts: the “What is a ‘Classic?’“ educator’s guide written by @triciaebarvia and @juliaerin80. The guide explores the implications when a text is bestowed the label of “classic.” Check it out here: https://t.co/IphPWUqEz5
