Composer, performance artist, video maker and writer Daniel Alexander Hignell-Tully. Painfully pretentious, dresses like a rabbit. Writes for the Quietus.
In the studio, recording melodica, tongue drum, and singing bowls for the new @BeKindCadaver release.
This is turning out to be a really, really special / strange project.

Preparing an 'alternative history of swimming':
'Sydney McTufftenPop's sacrifice became a catalyst for change. The phrase "going swimming" igniting a global movement against the Hydrophobes. Protests erupted, and the people, inspired by Sydney's unwavering spirit, demanded
Finished new piece. I never make any money so can't pay, but does anyone WANT to do some light mix/master/eq-tweaking of a long-form sound-art piece?
I won't even promise you exposure, but if your in South-East UK I'll buy you a beer...
Reminder that I am available for children's parties, wakes, Bar Mitzvah's, etc.
(also will do performance art nights or punk dive shows).

Finished the new album. This was probably the hardest to make - but 90% of the work was in figuring out how to present the concept without being unethical / exploitative.
For lack of a better description, it 'sounds like that famous Gavin Bryars piece if it was made by Eleh'.
Did a track for the new @CastlesInSpace Participation album. Been working on the first full release of this new project for a while now, and it's getting pretty close.

popped along to a modular synth gig happening round the corner. Decided I would only stay if it wasn’t comprised entirely of very serious white 45 year old men.
I didn’t stay.
My twitter feed is now basically just a mixture of irrational Terfs and people beating up Just Stop Oil activists, two of the worst examples of humanity. It's all a little depressing.
Is there any music sites/blogs at all that write about sound art, apart from myself???
I know @acloserlisten and @foxydigitalis do, along with everything else they cover. Are there any others??? I'd love to know...
Shameless self promotion of a release you all overlooked:

A live street performance of drone music on a cheap battery powered synthesiser whilst dressed as Santa on Xmas day in Brighton, processed via a spectral resonator.
Update (for those invested in my inane opinions) : The Hives are still great. Plus I got watch a charismatic cool 50ish singer with a security entourage try and fail to climb on to the bar mid-song, which was very, very punk.
Taking my inner teen punk to Brighton to watch The Hives tonight.
Distinctly recall them being one of the best live bands i’d ever seen, about 15 years ago.
