1/ Since the launch of #HomewardDC in 2016, the District has reduced overall homelessness by more than 11% and has reduced family homelessness by 48.5%.

ICH partners, please note that the groundbreaking ceremony at 801 East Men’s Shelter (originally scheduled for 3/24) & ribbon-cutting at the Ward 3 Short Term Family Housing site (planned for 3/27) have been postponed until further notice.
ICH partners: Over the coming weeks, please expect changes to the ICH committee & work group schedule. Many will be moved to conference calls or online meetings; others may be cancelled. Please be on the lookout for email updates from your respective committee chairs.

The opioid epidemic and substance abuse are also contributing to homeless deaths in DC. But Kristy Greenwalt, director of @District_ICH, says that the lack of affordable housing is the greatest factor driving homelessness in the District.
