Our Homicide Unit continues to investigate the death of a man that occurred earlier this year in the community of Ogden.

📍 At approx. 9 p.m., on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, police were called for reports of a physical altercation occurring in a home in the 2300 block of Crestwood Road S.E.

Upon arrival, a man in his 20s was located suffering from life-threatening injuries & was transported to the hospital where he later died.

The suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival.

🔍 We are releasing a photo of Makuey NHIAL, 25, who is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for murder & believed to be connected to the fatal assault, in hopes of advancing the investigation.

Members of the Calgary Police Service District 6 Community Engagement Response Team (CERT) are asking for the public’s help to identify an unknown man who is believed to be responsible for an indecent act that occurred last week in the city’s southeast.

📍 On Thursday, May 21, 2026, at approx. 9:57 a.m., the suspect was seen at a bus stop on the east side of Macleod Trail north of Southland Drive S.E., when he exposed himself to oncoming traffic. It is believed the man then returned to his vehicle, a grey or silver 2002 Acura EL, before heading westbound along Southland Drive S.W.

🔍 The man is described as tall with a slim build, with dark curly or wavy hair, between 30 & 40 years old, wearing darker jeans & a black hoodie.

Police are asking anyone who may have information or dash cam footage of the incident to contact police at the non-emergency number.

We are seeking assistance from the public to help locate a man who has been missing from northeast Calgary since late March.

📍 Haris, 19, was last seen in the northeast community of Whitehorn & the Freeport area during the late-evening hours of Tuesday, March 24, 2026. At the time, he was driving a black 2019 Mercedes GLE SUV bearing Alberta licence plate CFC 5775. The vehicle was later located in Chestermere, Alta., in the early morning of Wednesday, March 25, 2026.

Despite multiple attempts to locate him, police & family have not been able to establish contact & are concerned for his well-being.

Haris is described as 5’9” tall, approximately 170 pounds, with a medium build, short black hair, a beard & brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black zip-up hoodie, black pants & white sneakers.

ℹ️ Investigators are seeking any dashcam or CCTV footage from northeast Calgary & the Chestermere area between 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24 & 5 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, that may show Haris or a black 2019 Mercedes GLE SUV.

Police investigate fatal northeast shooting

Officers are currently on scene responding to a shooting that occurred in the parking lot of a grocery store located in the city’s north that has resulted in the death of one man.

At approximately p.m., today, Monday, May 11, 2026, we responded to reports of shots fired in the parking lot of the North Hill Co-op located at 520 16 Ave. N.E.

Upon police arrival, two men were found suffering from gunshot wounds and transported to hospital, both in life-threatening condition. One man has since died.

The suspects fled the area prior to police arrival and no one is in custody at this time; however, investigators believe this shooting was targeted and there is no active risk to the public.

The store was placed into lockdown to keep staff and customers safe, and the lockdown has since been lifted.

While no road closures are in effect, we are asking the public to please refrain from accessing the area as investigators continue to work and assess the scene.

As the investigation is in its early stages, no further information is available at this time.

“We fully recognize the impact of brazen, violent acts on the larger community,” says Duty Inspector Darren Smith. “Public safety is our number one priority, and Calgarians deserve to feel safe at all times in their communities. We are asking anyone who may have witnessed the shooting to contact police immediately.”

Addressing gun violence continues to be a priority for our Service. Through investigation, prevention and enforcement activities we have co-ordinated our resources to reduce victimization and enhance community safety.
