Diverse AI is a volunteer-led, membership organisation working to support & grow diversity in the field of AI. Founders @TojuDuke @elmosmoe #aiforall#aiforgood
We’re on track to build a 7M image diverse dataset of people currently absent from AI systems.
This is V2 of Diverse Spectrum. We’ll work with communities in Africa and Asia and will provide ongoing financial compensation to all participating communities!

📌 AI and labour are mutually exclusive that’s why it’s important to have different voices and experts involved when determining the effects of AI on the workforce.
Dario is wrong.
He knows absolutely nothing about the effects of technological revolutions on the labor market.
Don't listen to him, Sam, Yoshua, Geoff, or me on this topic.
Listen to economists who have spent their career studying this, like @Ph_Aghion , @erikbryn , @DAcemogluMIT , @amcafee , @davidautor
🔥Thanks to everyone who made it to our #AI + #Energy hackathon last Saturday. We developed equitable and accessible energy AI applications.
Special shoutout to @EnergySysCat for kindly sponsoring this event and everyone else involved!

We’re so proud of the research work we’re doing on building a diverse image dataset for generative AI! Also pleased we can engage in policy dialogues like these with the EU to further shape inclusion and equity in AI.
🏛️I had the honour to present our work with @diverse_ai , at a High-level policy dialogue at the EUI in Florence last week.
An intense, highly engaging, and thought-provoking 2 days spent discussing the theme: Empowering People in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Inclusion, Equity, Political Participation, and the Future of Democracy."
I presented our work with Diverse AI, where we’re using Community-Participatory Based Research methods to drive AI literacy, community feedback and inclusion in the development of our upcoming dataset for Gen AI.
We had top class presentations, and conversations from esteemed colleagues across Europe, coming from the European Commission and academia.
Driving further discourse, I’ve challenged and proposed the notion of redefining the way we’ve worked as humans in this current era of AI, where we need to think more about using the strengths of AI to drive positive change. Eg influencing populations through accurate information from LLMs, intentionally provided by well-meaning governments.
Thinking about the next level of skills, we probably haven’t tapped into yet is also top of mind for me, and considering redefining the term, democracy, in light of the new tech revolution.
Kudos to the amazing team at the Transnational School of Governance for spearheading this, including Ioannis and Daniel Innerarity.

♀️Happy International Women’s Day! 🎉
Pleased to share I’ve done my fair share of contributions by delivering two keynotes as part of International Women’s Day celebrations at The Stepstone Group and Dentons. I shared a few thoughts on Stepstones’s newsletter, and ended on this note:
“To the women struggling to be recognised, valued and compensated, keep going. Don’t give up. Every experience is a learning curve and stepping stone to get you to your destination, and you bring so much valuable and meaningful contribution everywhere you go, so keep going!”
