**LAST TALK OF THE SEMESTER ALERT**
Have you been meaning to come to Sci QUEERies but haven't?? Well join us this Tuesday at 1pm MDT to hear from Dr. Giulia Marino about her professional journey and work in tree physiology and how #climatechange will affect our fruit orchards!
Last of the cut flower gardens in, corn & beans planted. So much abundance already. Reflected on how adaptive farmers have to be these days & how everything we do is about building resilience to extremes. Traditional food systems continue to inspire. Maybe this is my next book.
Serious question - white or White?
In reference to, white person/White person (as opposed to Black or Indigenous person).
CP and AP style guides have opted for white, lower case. My go-to, Elements of Indigenous Style, appears to be silent on this.
Thoughts?

@Alexandra_Lyon @Diverseforestry Totally! The amount of times I heard « well I can handle it, sorry if you can’t » in blatantly unsafe situations with people of diverse backgrounds/makeups is startling and troubling. On top of everything else, makes individuals feel responsible for unsafe structures/work!!
My copy editor is using Greg Younging's "Elements of Indigenous Style: A Guide for Writing By & About Indigenous Peoples" for my book & every correction she makes (like capitalizing Nation) I want to cry (tears of joy) & celebrate. So healing to not feel on guard all the time. 🙌

The Forestry Diversity Crew is putting out a call for safety plans for field research. Our goal is to compile examples and resources of inclusive field plans that go beyond physical hazards and safety equipment, to include diversity, equity and inclusion considerations.
