@GMIgorSmirnov Main tactic for white here is never to move the pawn from a6. Don’t take the bait. Main reason is: block black rook to make bra3.
Then this opens up a lot of options: with a little 🤔 I would do wqg5. 😉
Good points.
It’s, however, hard to believe what Trump says these days. Even if what he says is true it’s hard to believe Putin would help him.
The core of his voters hate Russia and by announcing such a thing he will lose votes towards the midterms.
#losing_duck
Trump’s announcement that Putin will supply diesel to the United States, backed by an immediate Treasury waiver of Russian sanctions, shows three things about where his war on Iran has led:
First, the damage from this war of choice has moved beyond American gas pumps into the geopolitical arena. The waiver runs to April 2027. It comes barely a month after Trump signed a sweeping law meant to choke off Russia’s energy revenues. Britain and the EU are keeping their own sanctions in place, so Washington has broken ranks with its allies. Zelensky called it “a weak decision by strong partners.” Trump has reached the point where he will sacrifice Ukraine and NATO cohesion on the altar of the midterms to blunt the domestic fallout of a war he started.
Second, it disproves his claim that the Strait of Hormuz is under US control. If Persian Gulf fuel were flowing freely under American protection, he would not need to give Moscow a strategic concession for a few million tonnes of diesel. Ukraine’s sanctions commissioner drew made it clear: if easing Russian sanctions relieves the market, the main shock came from the Iran war and blockade. It did not come from the Ukrainian drones Trump spent weeks blaming.
Third, it shows how heavily he operates under Israeli influence. The alternative to rewarding Russia at his allies’ expense was a fair and permanent settlement with Iran. That settlement would recognize Iran’s legitimate rights and interests and accept coexistence with one of the region’s most important states. That path stays closed because of pro-Israel lobby pressure in Washington and a Secretary of State whose ideological attachment to Israel would predictably kill any deal. So the president went hat in hand to the Kremlin for diesel.
For all that, he came back nearly empty-handed. Russian diesel is a bandaid, not a cure. The Middle East, not Russia, is the world’s largest diesel exporter, and no Russian cargo can replace the Persian Gulf supply the war has cut off. By Trump’s own account, most of the promised volume depends on the condition of Russian refineries that Ukrainian drones keep hitting. The waiver expires in April, and analysts already warn the tonnage is small and may never arrive. The damage to Ukraine and the alliance will outlast whatever relief the fuel brings. Only ending the war with Iran will end the shortage.
It’s not about how much is leaving the strait anymore, but it’s about the price of what’s passing through and the time to destination.
The price of #diesel and #oil and its byproducts will continue to surge.
Economy is expected to trickle under the pressure of what’s coming.
@harryjsisson This margin may not be enough. I hope it is but he needs more to guarantee.
Remember Beto. He was behind in polls but lost with a much higher margin (polls were off)
@xxChessMaster Qb3 is the right move. In the next move black has two choices. Keep rook in 8 corridor or move it vertical below 8 (fatal). Logical move is keeping in 8 and if kept in corridor then only a few options. Next white pushes Qd3 behind the pawn and then game over.
@xxChessMaster Wrong move.
Rather play Qb3
Queen takes the black pawn to its right so that when black rook takes the knight it’s not check mate. Lose the knight rather than lose the game. If black rook
Best play for white is Qe7 ☠️😉

🇸🇦🇾🇪 Saudi Arabia is running out of time in Yemen
Malcolm Nance thinks Saudi Arabia is approaching a decision it can no longer avoid.
Either it goes back into Yemen in force, or it accepts that Ansar Allah may soon control the country and, with it, Saudi Arabia’s western oil route.
Taiz is what makes this urgent.
Malcolm says Ansar Allah’s advance threatens to encircle the remaining Saudi-backed forces there. If they collapse, he expects tribes aligned with the PLC to begin cutting deals with the Houthis simply to survive.
“If the Saudis don't act very soon and very quickly, the Houthis will control all of Yemen.”
And once that happens, he thinks the strategic problem becomes vastly harder to reverse.
Saudi Arabia already faces Iranian pressure on the Persian Gulf side of its energy exports. A Houthi-controlled Yemen would give an Iranian-aligned force enormous leverage over the other route through Bab el-Mandeb.
For Nance, that transforms Yemen from a neighboring civil war into a threat to the economic independence of the Saudi state.
“The nation state of Saudi Arabia now cannot have a national export of its national resources without kissing the Ring of Iran and the Houthis.”
Saudi Arabia would have to stop treating this as another air campaign and mobilize for a real ground war, potentially bringing in Egyptian forces and outside advisers while committing its own armor and troops deep into Yemen.
The Saudis and Emiratis already tried war there once and failed. But Nance thinks the alternative is now worse.
“This is an existential crisis for the economy of Saudi Arabia. Existential.”
Because if Ansar Allah consolidates Yemen, Riyadh may discover that losing the war was only the beginning.
It could lose control over how its own oil reaches the world.
@MalcolmNance
Listen to the absurdity of the neocons-
“If we can’t do a full GW Bush style Iraq war, we can still do a good ol’ Obama Libya-Syria arming of the brave freedom seeking people!”
We’ve tried every method of intervention, it never works.
We know better.
End the war.
NEW: It now costs $1.3M PER DAY to ship oil from the Persian Gulf to Asia. Before the war began, it was ~$50,000.
This is up already 30% since the beginning of September, and CLEARLY showing now signs of slowing down.
The chart has gone parabolic.
