Heartiest congratulations to Devendra Pratap Singh (@DevPS23 ) on the successful submission of your PhD thesis! ๐ This remarkable milestone reflects your dedication and unwavering commitment to excellence. Wishing you great success and many new achievements in future.
The older I get, the more I realize, I donโt want a busy life. I want a deep life. Slow mornings. Focused work. Calm people. Meaningful progress. Good books. A quiet mind at night. Nothing flashy. Nothing trendy. Just a life that feels good to live. Depth over noise. That'll do.
When I was in my late teens, I got into books. Reading 60-90 minutes. I got a happy rush just thinking about getting in my cosy bed, turning on the bedside yellow lamp, and disappearing into a totally different world. I read thick books. Just so that I can stay longer in that world. I read Harry Potter. Anna Karenina. Brothers Karamazov. Crime & Punishment. In Search Of Lost Time.
Later working I kept the habit by reading during commute to work in the metro. I read 100 Years of Solitude. The Fountain Head. And almost all books by Murakami.
I did it to pass time. But now I see it. The long-term effect of 15 years of reading. It changes your brain. It feels like therapy. Slows you down. Helps you notice the little things. Expands your perception of the world and people. Makes you smarter. And an interesting person probably.
