it's interesting how people were so obsessed with genuine things like "real" diamonds vs synthetic ones or original paintings vs forgeries, and then ai came in and all that went out the window lol "actually the art you're making doesn't matter i'll have my robot steal it instead"
@TimSweeneyEpic your employees are wondering how they're going to survive in this nightmare and you can't empathize because you're too far removed from where you began, you're surrounded by the disconnected tech elite, you no longer understand what it means to be a human being
"masanori sato, former artist for the M&L series, has been blessing us with new artwork on his bluesky for a while now. i just want to highlight it because yes food"
this reminds me of a gradient tutorial saying that you should avoid crossing colors through the center of the RGB cube becuz that's where the grayscale is which makes your gradient "muddy", so you add a 3rd color on the outside
it blew my mind (but didn't help me cuz I'm a bum)
In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.
One underrated element I adore about Kirby RTDL is that despite its cookie cutter level themes, the actual progression of some stages tell a story about Kirby's journey to get a ship part. It's genuinely so so so cool.
