Where did the screw worm come from??
Argentina, that's where. Trumps beef import plan brought in a whole load of Argentinian beef.
And, yes, he WAS warned about it. His response? shut down the agency. It doesn't exist it they can't report on it...

In Japan, a gorilla named Kiyomasa got into a fight with his mate. She kicked him out of their enclosure at the zoo, and he was later spotted sitting alone, seemingly rethinking his life choices
"Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Ukraine ends up winning this war. They destroy at least one Pantsir missile system almost every day. We get hit by drones every night. Yet on TV, we're told everything is going according to plan!"
A resident of Simferopol serving in Russia's FSB complains about regular drone attacks across occupied Crimea, the declining effectiveness of Russian air defenses, and ongoing fuel shortages.
Russia has now lost four elections in a row: in Romania, Moldova, Hungary, and now Armenia.
What's more, no one expected the margin in Armenia to be so large. This suggests that Armenians have lost faith in Russia and are distancing themselves from it.
I do not believe Russia will take military action against Armenia. The military base poses no threat, and Russia itself is exhausted by the war it is waging against Ukraine.
Through its heroic resistance, Ukraine is also giving other nations and states a chance to break free from Russia.
I believe Georgia may be next in attempting to remove pro-Russian forces.
Armenia's break with Russia will strengthen Turkey and its influence in the region. That is good news.
In addition, sources believe that the defeat in Armenia could be used by the Kremlin to oust the so-called "Armenian lobby" within the Russian leadership: to weaken, remove its members from office, and cut them off from financial flows.
The main names mentioned are Mikhail Mishustin, Russian prime minister, and Sergey Lavrov, Russian foreign minister.
Russia continues to lose ground and its influence.
Russia's logistics towards Russian-occupied Crimea is being cut off.
Today, trains were stopped at the Kerch-Simferopol part of the railroad. Most suburban trains were stopped, as well.
Buses (which were circulating with delays due to fuel shortages) have been re-routed to transport the passengers of the trains. Earlier, Crimean "authorities" reported that 400 buses did not start their routes due to the fuel crisis.
Russian tourists who arrived in Crimea by cars now report it's very hard to leave as there's no way to simply buy fuel, harsh restrictions were introduced.
The situation with logistics in Crimea will worsen.

Thanks for your critique, Janet. We actually tried a couple of episodes where House (Hugh Laurie) (please put the brackets in the right place) gets it right first time, but they were only 6 minutes long. NBC weren’t happy. Then we tried some where House never gets it right and the patient dies. The audience wasn’t happy.
One could apply your trenchant analysis to other art forms: JS Bach wrote 30 Goldberg variations on the same chord structure; Frida Kahlo painted 50 portraits of herself; Henry Moore, what??
The point is, or was, variations on a theme; if all you see is hospital, medical blah blah, then it wasn’t meant for you.
Nonetheless, I look forward to your first novel!
Crazy that this is getting barely any coverage. This year’s European Press Prize was just awarded to an investigative report by the Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant. It is entitled “What the Wounds Tell” and in it the journalists Maud Effting and Willem Feenstra document the cases of 114 children in Gaza under the age of 15 who were struck by a single bullet to the head or chest. Almost all of them died or were left severely disabled. They chose to document only the cases of boys and girls under the age of 15 (though often much younger: aged 3, 4 or 7) because these are children who can be immediately identified as such. “A single bullet in these parts of the body is a clear indication that these children were deliberately targeted“, the two journalists write.
