Xbox just hired Matthew Ball as their new Chief Strategy Officer.
This is the same guy who’s spent years saying Xbox needs to actually make more games, build a stronger console business, and stop relying so heavily on Game Pass.
Asha bringing him in from the outside looks like a smart move. She’s clearly not afraid to hire people who’ve been critical if it means actually fixing things.
This is the kind of decision that shows she’s serious about turning things around.
Xbox can have
Forza Horizon 7 exclusive
Elder Scrolls 6 exclusive
Fallout 5 exclusive
Fallout New Vegas 2 exclusive
Fable 2 Exclusive
Halo 7 Exclusive
Gears E Day Exclusive
Minecraft 2 Exclusive
Crash Bandicoot Exclusive
Banjo Exclusive
Clockwork Revolution exclusive
And in 2032 they can make COD SP portion exclusive and or outright.
Xbox is now in a position of not having to rely on Sony platform after a deep reset and balancing of the books.
Infinity Ward, despite their flaws over the years, has remained my favorite COD developer.
No amount of “good mechanics” and “movement” matter to me if I cannot stand looking at the game, or being immersed in the world.
They make the most grounded version of COD and I like it.
