One of my TrapDraw goals this year was to get more involved with the @WGAESF, one of the best forces for good in golf. Through some work on the back end with their team and ours, we've set up a way to fundraise as a group toward the goal of establishing a @NoLayingUp Scholarship.
Among the listed violations from the PGA's "Player Code of Conduct" in place this week: "Abuse of the golf course, such as deliberately damaging a playing surface through unnecessary force or a swing or repeated swings with a club."
Not sure I’ve ever seen this: on 7, Rahm hit his approach from the rough long, got mad and swung the club at the ground.
He took out a whole patch of grass which hit a volunteer in the face! To his credit, he immediately went over to apologize.
I've been in conversation this morning with the PGA of America's in-app A.I. chatbot on a number of topics facing the golf world. I'd describe the talks as "productive."
Lovely example at the fourth. Pin is tucked. It's a wedge for everyone, but whipping downwind.
S****h is in the fairway and can spin it plenty and go right at it. Rahm creeps into the light rough, can't be sure how it's going to spin and has to play to 30 feet. Delightful!
Watching this Rory/Rahm/S****h featured group coverage this morning is as enjoyable of a Thursday morning as I've had with the PGA in a long time.
The combo of the wind and the hole locations has been a delight and has me very pumped to watch Scottie tackle it later. #blessed
