Mayan Long-Count's 13 baktuns ends in 2046 only because of the solaric anomaly of 713 BCE when the sun retrgraded 10 degrees and the moon for four months disappeared from visibility in the northern hemisphere.

Hans Bellamy wrote that the Maya preserved a Great Cycle as 2760 years, and we know this as 552 x 5, or five Phoenix Cycles.

This 2760 years is the time from 713 BC to the end of 2046 AD.

The entire Mayan Long-Count is 5200 years of 360 days each, and 5200 divided by 1.618 (phi) is exactly 1656 years, or 552 x 3.

But 1656 + 1656 is 3312 years, or 552 x 6, and 3312 years divided by 1.618 (phi) is exactly 2046.9.

This is a map from 1780 I pulled out of a book in the Archaix library published in 1794. A work of chronology beginning in 1606 and year-by-year to 1776 Declaration of Independence. The Founding Fathers were all still alive when this book was written and circulated in the new United States.

Prior to the English mapping the American coasts, Atlantic bays and islands and topographical features with precision, the Portuguese, the Spanish and the French had already explored and mapped the area.

It is the scientific theory that the Great Lakes began forming after the last Ice Age 10,000 years ago and that about 3000 years ago they assumed their present contours and depths.

This map is only 246 years old and the differences are massive. Especially with the huge islands of Lake Superior, which are not there today.
