Fortnite took the plain old Battle Royale formula and added building and live events, making it accessible by balancing simplicity with unrealistic fun. It has kept millions coming back for 9 years straight.

Now, ARC Raiders is doing the same for extraction shooters. It made the genre fun, third-person, and accessible, featuring smart QoL and no forced wipes so players can progress at their own pace.
