DEAR NORTH (ten truths)
1. Dear North,
Let the Tax Reform Bill pass. Opposing it harms you more than helps. Your lack of productivity was bound to hurt at some point. #NorthNigeria#TaxReformBill
Rather than ganging up against Dr. Reuben Abati, let us accept the fact that the Southeast is the part of Nigeria most closed to outsiders.
Even amongst themselves, there is discrimination. Ebonyi people have repeatedly complained of difficulty renting properties in Anambra. Fact-check me. There have been multiple cases of Ebonyi people showing evidence of how their money was returned to them by Anambra and Enugu landlords when it was discovered that they were from Ebonyi.
When President Tinubu appointed Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla as the Chief of Naval Staff, he was accused of being a non-Igbo speaking Igbo by people from his region.
Over 25 Igbos have been elected into high office in Lagos and the Southwest, including Oghene Egoh, Rita Orji, Tony Nwoolu, and many others. Even President Tinubu, whom many Obidients love to insult, appointed Igbos into his cabinet as Commissioner when he was Governor. Ben Akabueze was one of them.
There are Igbos elected and appointed into various political positions in Northern Nigeria, including Chidebelu Ewuzie, a Special Adviser to the Gombe State Governor, George Dike, a Special Adviser to the Niger State Governor, Kester Ogualili, a Special Adviser to the Borno State Governor, and Cyprian Nelson Len, an Igbo man who won a House of Assembly seat in Taraba, amongst others.
But how many Lukumi Yorubas, Northerners or Niger Delta people are elected or appointed into high office in all the five states of the Southeast? Please name one.
During last year's election, political opponents of Anthony Chinasa, a Labour Party candidate in Abia, added Abiola to his name in a poster to make people not vote for him. Please fact-check me. The man had to call a press conference to reject the name Abiola!
Even when you look at the results of the #NigerianElections2023, you find that the only region that voted tribally was the Southeast.
Whereas Peter Obi got 19.90% of the SW votes, Tinubu only got 5% of the Southeast votes, totalling 127,370. Waziri Atiku got only 4% of the votes in the Southeast, totalling 90,968. Meanwhile, in his own region, the Northeast, Peter Obi got 315,107 votes, which was 9.17% of the votes.
However, the Southeast is also the most vociferous in accusing the other regions of being tribalistic in their voting patterns even when the facts indict them.
So, let us not act as if Reuben Abati lied. He spoke an inconvenient truth, and as usual, those he exposed wanted to bully him into submission on social media. It failed in 2023, it will fail in 2024, and it will keep failing in the years to come.

Dear @realkjk1,
Thank you for your feedback. I am sure the Igbo nation is as great and even more impactful than you have described them. If you want to know more about the greatness of Ndi'Igbo, you may wish to read any of the thirteen articles I have previously written, extolling their greatness.
I recommend my OpEd titled 'The Igbo are The Engine of The Vehicle Called Nigeria'. You may want to read it here https://t.co/UTJJoz63ua
However, when the Yoruba are praised, it is not at the expense of the Igbos or any other ethnic nationality. You do not have to feel triggered whenever others, especially the Yoruba, are praised.
When you feel pained because praises are rained on others, it is usually a sign of unaddressed trauma.
By the way, a lot of people need to understand what bigotry is. Bigotry is the unreasonable hatred towards people without any justifiable cause.
Praising a people who justifiably deserve to be honoured is not bigotry. Thinking that the commendation of a people who have done things worth commending is bigotry is actually the definition of bigotry. Because it is an unreasonable reaction to a reasonable action.
Finally, while I admire Nkem Owoh's performance in Osuofia in London, and the prowess of thespians like Aki and Paw-paw, please do note that the top ten highest-grossing Nollywood movies are ALL by Yoruba movie makers, including:
A Tribe Called Judah
Battle on Buka Street
Omo Ghetto: The Saga
The Wedding Party
The Wedding Party 2
Chief Daddy
Brotherhood
King of Thieves
Malaika, and
Sugar Rush
Anyway, thanks again, and may God heal you and others like you from your trauma.

Of the nine notorious kidnappers who have been killing and wreaking havoc in Lagos for months and were neutralised by the Lagos Police Command in a shoot-out a few days ago, how many were from Lagos? How many were even from the Southwest? And later, some ingrate will come out and say, “Invest in Lagos at your own peril". No! The peril is not in Lagos. It was brought to Lagos. And by the grace of God, Lagos will get rid of those perils that are working against its determination to be a world-class city and the pride of Nigeria. In Yeshua's Name.
Where else in Africa can you find a metropolis that will accept your children into its public schools without first checking whether or not you pay state and local government taxes? Where else will you benefit from state-subsidized railway services that crisscross the state like the red and blue lines do? You can leave your village anywhere in Nigeria and go to Ikeja General Hospital, where you will see a doctor, courtesy of the Lagos State Government and the late Mobolaji Bank Anthony irrespective of your never having paid even one kobo of taxes in Lagos.
Not only has Lagos been paying above minimum wage to its civil servants, but the State Government does not discriminate in its hiring policy, unlike a certain state that recently advertised for jobs and asked non-indigenes not to apply. Please Google the state. I will never go there to play Ludo. Especially on a Monday. Even if I am a Hero.
Lagos has Hausa, Igbo, Ijaw, Efik, Tiv and other civil servants in Lagos. As we speak, there are free soup kitchens in every local government of Lagos serving free food to whoever walks in, whether or not they are from Lagos.
And then, after doing this, one entitled troll, who cannot live in their state because of insecurity, now uses the platform God gave them to ungratefully de-market the state that had done more than their own birthplace for them.
Truly, it is the destiny of the destiny helper of an ungrateful venomous snake to die from poison!

We Can All Learn Tolerance From Globacom and The Yoruba
When the Central Bank of Nigeria relocated some departments to Lagos, there was an uproar on social media. Tinubu wants to move everything to Yorubaland.
But now that the Nigerian Navy is moving its training base headquarters from Lagos to Onne, in Rivers State, there is silence online. Nobody is saying that the Chief of Naval Staff, who is from Enugu, is moving that critical infrastructure closer to his region. And that is the right thing to do. Onne is a better location for the navy.
Recall that some individuals tried to pull off a Yoruba nation agitation in Ibadan a few weeks ago, look at how their own Yoruba kith and kin clinically dealt with them. And not even by the Federal Government, but by the Oyo State Government, which is in opposition to the Federal Government. Elsewhere, secessionists are protected, and even celebrated by the local population, and the State Governments look the other way.
Let us learn to imbibe the tolerance of the Yoruba, and Nigeria will go well.
The Omoluabi culture of tolerance stems from their culture, not from their DNA, so it is something all of us can also learn.
It is built on two platforms. Iwa, which means moral character (Omoluabi actually is short for Omo-ti-Olu Iwa-bi, meaning children that the Lord of moral character gave birth to).
The second platform is Ebi, meaning family. Omoluabi Yoruba are taught to uphold fraternal relations above money and power.
That is why, for example, Colonel Fajuyi rejected the offer to surrender Major General Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi to rebellious Northern officers, and replace him as Military Head of State. He voluntarily chose to follow Ironsi to his death. That is a combination of the Iwa and Ebi ethos.
Do you know the most Islamic state in Southern Nigeria? It is Osun State.
Yet, the indigenes of that state voted for a man who is both officially a Christian and a Muslim as their Governor. Yes. Please fact-check me. Senator Ademola Adeleke regularly attends church and not so regularly attends mosques. At best, he is a Chrislamist.
So, Osun has a Chrislam Governor, who just happens to be half-Igbo (Senator Adeleke's mother was Igbo and he was born in Enugu), a Christian Deputy Governor, and a Christian Speaker. Please note that Osun recently changed Speakers, and I do not know the religion of the new Speaker, Prince Adewale Egbedun. But his predecessor, Timothy Owoeye, is a Christian.
Nowhere do we see that culture on display better than at Globacom. This is a company wholly owned by an Ijebu man, Dr. Mike Adenuga. Yet, even when there were prominent Yoruba artists who were the biggest singers in Nigeria at that time, Globacom deliberately chose to promote One Nigeria.
D-Banj was then the hottest artiste in Nigeria. But Globacom took a relatively unknown as at then group, P-Square, and made them the face of their brand. And they sent them to etiquette school. Glo had P-Square on billboards all over Lagos and Nigeria.
Dr. Adenuga bought P-Square their first Mercedes G-Wagon. Then he bought them Range Rovers.
As Glo ambassadors, P-Square were featured on CNN, which blew them up worldwide. They thereafter bought houses in America.
But then there happened to be a quarrel between one of them and Seun Kuti, and in the heat of the moment, Peter Okoya called his own father "a nobody". Not Seun's father. Fela was never a nobody. No. Peter Okoye referred to his own father as a nobody.
Such a thing can NEVER happen in Yoruba land. Never a thousand times.
There is nothing wrong with Air Peace using an Isi-Agu costume as the uniform for their flight attendants. I defended them publicly. Please research it. My defence of Air Peace went viral.
But let me say here that if Air Peace had been owned by Dr. Adenuga, they would have taken a different approach.
Happy 71st birthday to one of Nigeria's most outstanding entrepreneurs ever, bar none. Dr. Mike Adenuga Junior.
The Yoruba culture is a shining example of tolerance, acceptance, and inclusivity! The Omoluabi ethos of moral character and fraternal relations is a beacon of hope for a united and harmonious society. The way Yorubas embrace and celebrate diversity is truly admirable. From our warm hospitality to our vibrant cultural heritage, the Yoruba people are a treasure trove of wisdom and grace. Let us continue to learn from and appreciate this rich culture! #YorubaCulture #Omoluabi #ToleranceAndAcceptance
…I strongly believe that there is an abominable SECRET b/w Fubara & Wike ..
The TOP SECRET, probably CULTIC or SEXUAL, certainly DIABOLICAL….
There is definitely something the world does not know about Fubara & Wike, which always trumps every expected sane reasoning about their conflict..
Remember, this Fubara continues to call Wike - My Oga, even as Wike held his 2 balls…
Remember, this Fubara wanted to resign b4 he was stopped by some Ijaw people..
Remember, Ada George complained Fubara is not talking to some of them who are fighting for him..
Both are certainly entangled in some diabolical blackmail…of each other..
Watch Fubara closely & deeply & you see an unsettled & troubled Soul ..
Honestly, he does not look honest at all. His hands are tied in some dirty things…
#wike #fubara
