قبل ساعات فقط كانوا يؤكدون لنا أن:

وعندما سجلت ألمانيا سبعة أهداف قيل إن المنافس ضعيف، وإن النتيجة لا تعني شيئًا، وإن الاختبار الحقيقي لم يبدأ بعد.

ثم تعادلت إسبانيا مع الرأس الأخضر، فتحولت النغمة فجأة إلى:

«"هذه هي بدايات الأبطال."

"المنتخبات الكبيرة لا تُقاس من مباراة واحدة."

"التعادل أحيانًا أهم من الفوز."»

من المدهش كيف تتغير قواعد اللعبة بين ليلة وضحاها.

فحين يتعلق الأمر بألمانيا تصبح الانتصارات الكبيرة بلا قيمة، وعندما يتعلق الأمر بمنتخب آخر تتحول أي نتيجة متعثرة إلى درس في الحكمة والصبر وبناء المشاريع طويلة الأمد.

المشكلة ليست في ألمانيا ولا في إسبانيا، بل في بعض المحللين والمشجعين الذين يملكون معيارين مختلفين: واحد لألمانيا وآخر لبقية المنتخبات.

أما كرة القدم فلا تعرف هذه الازدواجية.

في سجل البطولة سيبقى المكتوب أن ألمانيا فازت 7-1، وأن إسبانيا تعادلت مع الرأس الأخضر، وان معاييركم تخضع للاهواء ومحاولات يائسة لتبرير الأحكام المسبقة.
