An overarching theme in Workshop 1 is to broaden the definition of what is considered "Canadian"

How do we involve all Canadians, not just worry about what is Canadian? Why is cultural identity such an important thing? What is "Canadian"? #policyispower

More thoughts: We need new categories to define the structures of newer tech and the CRTC needs to evolve. Focus should be on curation and creation of content, not restriction. We also need to highlight the different things that are Canadian content #policyispower

More ideas coming out of the first workshop: the broadcasting act has done good and has shaped content (without it there would be no Canadian film or music industry) but maybe we should scrap it and put something else in its place.
