You get 15-25c back per item. Someone will make a small business model that will pay you to collect and return them for you less a service charge, great for some teenagers looking for pocket money.

They had one of these in Blanchardstown Centre for charity donations instead of cash back up until a few months ago.

It was great, used it at every opportunity. Most likely taken away to prepare for this scheme.

Just filled a schoolbag with them and brought them down.

The query about rural communities and those with mobility issues, you still manage to get your shopping, you can work an arrangement to return the items.
