Chairman, McDan Group. Father. Husband. Business leader with diverse interests in education, youth development, philanthropy & sports. I’m here to serve.
No matter how demanding the schedule gets, their laughter and hugs bring balance, peace, and renewed energy.
They are my greatest motivation and the reason I show up every day with even more determination!!
No matter how many great meetings and successful strategy discussions I have in a day, nothing compares to the joy I feel when my kids walk into my office after a long day.
Their presence reminds me why I work so hard and why every challenge is worth it.
These people need our support because they lack the capacity or skills to fish on their own, and our kindness can make a significant difference in their lives.
I’m pretty sure that many of us have heard someone say, “Give a man a fish, and he’ll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he’ll eat for a lifetime.”
But the harsh truth is this: the “teach someone to fish” concept is largely outdated these days. People know how to fish...
Some people might drown when they try, and others might get lost at sea. Some may not even know how to use a fishing hook or may simply find it too difficult to learn. For these individuals, we must extend our compassion and offer them fish directly.
Nobody cares when you’re grinding.
They don’t see the 5 a.m. alarms.
They don’t see the nights you traded sleep for work.
When you finally win, they’ll call it luck.
Let them.
You know the blood and hours you put in.
And that’s all that matters.
Jobs aren’t so easy to find. I'm sure you've heard people say they’ve been looking for a job for years.
However, one thing you can do for yourself is show up online.
This is especially for people who don’t have “connections.”
Talk about what you do, show what you can do.
The life you're looking for is in that hard and smart work. Yes, luck counts too.
But... when you’re constantly doing everything you can to go closer to your goal, opportunities will come along the way, including luck.
Position yourself to make those moments easier to come.
As a business lead, I know you can't always feel motivated. That’s why habits matter.
Motivation is fleeting, but discipline carries you on the days you’d rather quit. Success isn’t built on short bursts; it’s built on the small things you do repeatedly, even when it’s hard.
This only means one thing: stop waiting until you “know enough.” Start trying. Start failing. Start again. That’s the only way you’ll ever get to the part where you actually know what you're doing.
Early in my career, I assumed that business leaders always had the answers. But I’ll let you in on a big secret: everyone is winging it. No one really knows precisely what they’re doing. Nobody.
I had to learn this the hard way, after failures, rejections, ideas not working, and long nights no one saw. And that’s why the companies I’ve built aren’t just surviving. They’re thriving.
Not perfect at all, but really great girls. Watching them reflect kindness, confidence, humour, and joy reminds me that the best legacy isn’t what I leave behind, but what I give to them. Every day, I’m so grateful that I get to be their dad 🦅
My absolute favorite thing on weekends is the extended bonding time and conversations that I get to have with my daughters, both at home and on the tennis court. I love who they are becoming. They are witty, smart, kind, generous, courageous, and humble.
