If the Mayor & most of City Council DO NOT want to fight for transparency and accountability on LA28's finances, WE WILL.

REMINDER: YOU ALL (LA taxpayers) are financially liable for UNLIMITED amounts if the LA Olympics goes over budget.

The Mayor's fiscal decisions have destroyed city services.

Since being in Office, thousands of needed city positions have been eliminated & the City has been in a hiring freeze for 2 years.

BUT at least we have unlimited money for LAPD all the time.

4 more years of THIS⁉️ 🫠

[Kenneth Mejia, CPA @kennethmejiaLA]

Reminder that the LAPPL (police union) & the Mayor drove the City into a BUDGET DEFICIT that cut city services all for a $1 BILLION labor contract for LAPD that was SUPPOSED to retain & recruit more officers.

3 years later, we have LESS officers but taxpayers are paying MORE. 🫠

[LA City Controller Kenneth Mejia @lacontroller]

Never before in this City’s history has a private org been backstopped by the City of LA to carry out an endeavor of this size and cost.

Today, we requested all financial documents from LA28 owed to the City to provide the transparency & accountability that you all deserve.

🚨If Sacramento doesn’t act by the end of this month (this week!), California’s film tax credit, a key program to support LA’s film industry, will be in jeopardy.🚨

[Edgar McGregor @edgarrmcgregor]

A major, long-duration heatwave is about to strike Southern California for the 3rd time in 5 years.

The reality is that our heatwaves are longer, experience more days near peak heat, are much slower to break, have far warmer nights, and occur more frequently than they once did.

[LA City Controller Kenneth Mejia @lacontroller]

Something SHADY is happening at City Hall‼️

We do NOT support the LA28 Olympics Contract that the City Council will vote on tomorrow as written.

🔎 It fails to provide transparency
💰 It is not fiscally responsible
❌ It limits the City’s ability to hold LA28 accountable

The Lineage Fire in Boyle Heights has cost LA taxpayers so far $3 Million. This is JUST for LAFD costs from June 17-21.

According to Lineage to CBS, Lineage is a tenant of the building owned by Chill Build LLC & the solar array on the building is ultimately owned by Altus Power.

My opponent, his mom, and their billionaire friends are now spending $9.5 million to flood voters with disgusting attacks and lies.

Let's send a loud and clear message that the City Controller's Office belongs to the people!

VOTE!!!

Love when the news talks about the great work we've been doing in Office despite the limited resources we've been given and the pushback we get inside City Hall! Luckily, I am accountable to YOU ALL, THE PEOPLE!!!

Check out ALL OUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS at https://t.co/4RsUmnFCDd 🏆

Our opponent is funded by real estate developers, billionaires like Stewart Resnick, Howard Schultz, Robert Kraft, CEO’s of oil and AI companies, and of course, his mother who is spending $5.5 million to buy her son a seat as LA’s watchdog.

The City Controller is not for sale.

[Kenneth Mejia, CPA @kennethmejiaLA]

I LOVE being an accountant AND being the City's FIRST ACCOUNTANT EVER to be the City's Accountant! I'm also proud to be Certified Public Accountant (CPA)! 🤓

Through our work, we're working with departments to put these idle funds to use AND also replenish our General Fund! 💰

[Kenneth Mejia, CPA @kennethmejiaLA]

My opponent’s mom is spending $4 million to oust me as City Controller. This buys him a platform for disgusting lies but it cannot erase the truth.

For 3.5 years, I’ve led as Controller with integrity and trustworthiness. My record speaks for itself - and so does my opponent's.

[Kenneth Mejia, CPA @kennethmejiaLA]

I will always FIGHT FOR the PEOPLE! ✊🏼

No matter how much money, political parties, or politicians try to stop us, we will always remain independent and accountable to YOU, the PEOPLE! ✊

Whoa, this HUGE! 🥳

Thank you to LA Daily News for the endorsement! We won them over with our record of providing transparency & accountability.

“Four years later, Mejia has demonstrated he's not only up to the task but has excelled despite the constraints on his office.”

[LA City Controller Kenneth Mejia @lacontroller]

How are the City of LA's roads, sidewalks, trees, facilities, bridges, etc.? 🤔

Let us know what you think about the city's capital infrastructure!

Since day one, we've been pushing for a Capital Infrastructure Plan, the City is getting around to it but it's a slooooow process.

[LA City Controller Kenneth Mejia @lacontroller]

We just found out that there is another proposal to destroy the Controller's Office at tomorrow's Charter Reform meeting.

Help us protect the Controller's Office!
