@MarinerMuse Raleigh is tough because he’s been hurt all year but I agree. . Pitching staff seems to be better with him back which is a plus, but yeah it’s been rough.
@shannondrayer The Refsnyder decisions continue to be infuriating. Actively lowering win probability not just by playing him but by putting him leadoff or in the middle of the lineup
@nickdaschel I think they are comparable in a different context in that we shouldn’t give the NCAA, conferences or professional leagues a pass for forgiving those things, but in terms of his argument no it’s a red herring.
@wilnerhotline I get that it has broader ranging impact, but while
Writers and fans are outraged and worry about the sanctity of the game, universities care only about how this could impact their wallets, and to pretend otherwise when they abandoned those ideals long ago would be foolish.
@wilnerhotline There are similarities and differences. People forgive drug addicts because they see it as a disease or mental health concern and if it doesn’t affect them they don’t care. Sorsby’s gambling is seen as a personal failing/weakness and something to be scorned and never forgiven.
@nickdaschel Sure maybe vocally they would but let’s not pretend they would actually do anything different. It’s always about money. Even with the gambling accusations, I don’t believe for a second these schools/conferences suddenly found their morals, it’s always about money
@_sespro@JomboyMedia One of the reasons that pitch is so effective is guys think it’s coming in on them and bail and then it moves back over the plate for a strike. But yeah when a slider doesn’t slide it’s a problem
@_sespro@JomboyMedia That pitch comes in and out for him and it’s his most effective pitch and one of the most effective sliders in the game when it’s on. He can’t just eliminate it, but I agree if he doesn’t have the feel for it on a day then he needs to adapt.
@sebartsyfartsy@cowmeowcowmeow@JomboyMedia This happened with Naylor the other day, they didn’t like how he slid in so they threw at his head and hit him (intentionally or not at the head specifically I don’t know) but that shit is dangerous, you’re talking real health concerns and lasting consequences to prove a point
@brianjhayes2@cowmeowcowmeow@JomboyMedia So Because a guy misses a couple pitches he should be taken out? Brash was the best option here. The Ms pen has struggled recently and short due to injuries and the six man (dumb) rotation. He was the best option. You dance with the girl you brought. It worked in the end.
@_sespro@JomboyMedia Yeah, and jomboy didn’t provide the context around why so people see the video, don’t recognize a slider, and assume it was intentional.
@OldWillieBoy@JomboyMedia Yeah it often takes guys months to get back in rhythm with their stuff. Not like football where if you are physically all good you forget how to throw.
@cowmeowcowmeow@JomboyMedia Or like, that’s just baseball? Happens all the time. Brahs is expecting that ball to have over a foot more run then it did. Sometimes guys are wild. He struck out Alonso, got out of the inning and the Ms won. Now if thy were to hit Julio tomorrow intentionally, that would be dumb
