Delfont Mackintosh Theatres, owned by Sir Cameron Mackintosh, operates 8 prestigious West End theatres. We're here Monday to Friday, between 10am & 6pm.
Tonight at 7pm, we will be dimming the lights across our theatres in memory of Penelope Keith DBE who passed away on Monday.
Dame Penelope Keith’s appearances at Delfont Mackintosh Theatres included the lead role of Judith Bliss in Noël Coward’s ‘Hay Fever’ at the Queen’s (now Sondheim) Theatre in 1983, and in 1976 she won the Olivier Award for Comedy Performance of the Year in Michael Frayn’s ‘Donkey’s Years’. However, it was her casting in ‘The Norman Conquests’ by Alan Ayckbourn at the Globe (now Gielgud) Theatre in 1974 that perhaps had the biggest impact on her career. Comedy writing duo John Esmonde and Robert Larbey caught a performance and subsequently cast Penelope – and fellow cast member Felicity Kendal – in their forthcoming BBC sitcom, The Good Life.
Initial casting announced for Into The Woods!
Original cast members including Kate Fleetwood, Jo Foster, and Gracie McGonigal will all reprise their roles at the Noël Coward Theatre this September!
