I am surprised how fast combat runs in #BECMI with party initiative over #dnd5e. Things like 1 Action (move or attack) and the parallel resolution (move, missile fire, melee attack) means we get more combats in a session and have more time for role-play while still being epic.

In the late '80s, I wouldn't have touched #GURPS with, well, a 10' pole. But I now have so many non-fantasy ideas, I'm all over #Genesys (@FFGames), #SavageWorlds (@PEG_Games) and #CypherSystem (@MonteCookGames) grasping at what they can provide.
