Most Catholics are embarrassed to be so closely associated with a (small) group that exhibits a functional atheism by reducing our faith to the pursuit of worldly power. If they read the Gospel, they stopped understanding it the moment Satan tempted Jesus with all the kingdoms of the world.
For those confused by the sudden and seemingly coordinated invective against “post-liberalism” and “integralism,” the terms are slogans to mask a neo-Know-Nothing contempt for Catholics. It’s not that they don’t refer to real ideas. But in common harangues, they simply express opposition to Catholics, much as “Zionist” and “Talmudic,” also real and distinct concepts, usually just mean “Jew.”
